I doubt Loki is gone for good.
I"m getting a Darth Maul comeback vibe where everyone isn't really dead. I mean time travel is obviously a thing... it could be explained. That said, I think it would be very bold of them to just own all the people they killed & roll forward with whomever survived.

It didn't make any sense at first glance... that Strange gave the infinity stone to Thanos in exchange for one human being's life. It's like mass genocide just to save your buddy... at first glance... but there's obviously more to it with Strange finding 1 out of 41 million possibilities in which they come out on top... & so we all know that is going to be a huge part of teh next episode.

Thor is trying to restrain an enraged Hulk, Hulk is trying to rip his head off

so it may be 1-1.... but Thor almost killed the guy that bitch slapped Hulk lol. MMA-Math = Thor wins lol

Yes, but Thor also had help from his weapon against Thanos and wasn't going toe to toe with his bare hands, just saying :)

i presume Strange in that 1 in whatever odds chance situation had to give him the stone, or knew Thanos did use them all and they fixed it afterwards

not sure why he chose THAT moment to give it to him, unless he knew Stark would survive the snap so he stopped it then in hopes that this was that one chance

Some funny humor in here too. I nearly spit my drink out when

Teen Groot is told to stop playing the video game and really obnoxiously/mockingly says "I am Groot," and the Guardians lose their shit like he just cursed Quill out big time.

Also enjoyed

Drax creepily watching Peter and Gamora and then explaining he had been there for an hour...
.

Thor telling The Guardians about the Avengers, "the world's greatest heroes," and Mantis excitedly asking, "like Kevin Bacon?" And Thor, not missing a beat, and having no idea who Kevin Bacon is, "Maybe. He might have joined, I haven't been there for some time."

You're embarrassing me in front of the wizards.

Definitely more than that, but those were the ones that first came to mind.

"New haircut?"

"Noticed you copied my beard..."

legit lost my shit.

i think she's gone for good, same w/ Loki

it would otherwise diminish the supposed sacrifice Thanos made (as well as the attempt to empathize w/ him), and while it would clearly effect Starlord in the future (i think the rest of Guardians will be brought back barring maybe Mantis) but also provide further depth to his character to build on.

Plus even if someone got the timestone and tried to reverse it, only Red Skull knows what happened right besides Thanos? no clue if someone could do like a 'restore point reboot' on a computer to a set date/time in the past to negate that fact, but either way i think she's gone.

Nebula is still there too to perhaps became further developed

edit: well shit just read Tiny's post regarding the interviews, nevermind haha

I just assumed that her soul was inside the soul stone, and once things are back to normal she'd be released. I'm not exactly sure if that's how it works though.

Thor's powers are tied to his weapon(or his max power is).... so

;)

lost it at 'I'm Steve Rogers' to Groot

b/c he didn't quite say it like 'who the f is this guy and what is he talking about' but he didn't say it totally non chalant either. It was still pretty respectful tho

Still that good down home skinny Steve, w/ a smidge of modern cynicism and smartassery, but mostly good.

Crazy how pretty good of an actor he is, considering he started in what Not Another Teen Movie?

The image of Star Lord flipping the bird to Thanos before disappearing through a Dr Strange portal was also gold.

what was? its fucking Thor lol..... and he literally said mid movie that he was going to get a "thanos killing weapon" lol

foreshadowing ftw ;)

Thor is a BAMF, but it's the Infinity Gauntlet. Very, very, very few things in all of Marvel can overcome it, and Thor/Stormbreaker sure as shit ain't one of them. They're not even in the same ballpark.

I think we saw this Hulk when he first attacked Thanos, it's just that he was caught off guard how strong Thanos was and lost his confidence. Not to mention Hulk is still maturing and he was throwing haymakers while Thanos was straight pulling some MMA type moves haha

I'm just not a fan of how they portrayed Hulk in IW, making him a coward. If you look at the comics, Hulk is anything but a coward. Even in the rare occasions where he gets beat, he still comes back for more. That's Hulk's whole thing. He loves to fight. Deep down in his soul, that's all he wants. So making him out to be a coward with no confidence in the movie was just wrong.

I can accept him getting KO'd by Thanos, but the real Hulk would have been thirsty for a rematch.

Now if THIS Hulk had been there in the beginning to fight Thanos, I think he could have put up more of a fight.

It's almost like Hulk gets weaker each appearance he makes. Avengers Hulk > AoU Hulk > Rag Hulk > IW Hulk

He is fighting tougher and tougher opponents throughout each movie.

Hulk cannot hang with Thanos 1v1. I’ve never read Thanos ever losing in a fight against the earth heroes (with or without the stones). At most it’s a draw with most of the heroes knocked out a few people still fighting (hulk, drax, Thor, maybe warlock, thing, Wolverine). It’s been a while since I read them comic books.

he was majorly respectful... he put his hand over his heart lol

I liked this one. It made me laugh quite hard. And to be quite honest, several things in this movie did. The Groot one in the ship when Starlord tells him to the put the game away was hysterical as well.

In the ultimate trollery tradition...there is one "earth hero" who downed Thanos solo...

Fucking EHL OH EHL.

Yeah man.

What I'm curious about with Strange is that it is clear that he saw in the one possible scenario where they win- that a.) they either need Stark for it (thus his handing over the stone to save him) or (more likely) the single scenario involved Thanos already having all six Infinity Stones so once they can't get the gauntlet off, he realizes that there is no way around it and there only hope is the hypothetical that he saw.

The one weird thing with Doctor Strange though is that he certainly is trying very hard with the rest of them on Titan to get that gauntlet from Thanos. So there is a break point where he goes from believing they might be able to stop Thanos then and there, to understanding that "the only way," is for Thanos to have all the Infinity Stones. But I guess my problem with it is that, given how Strange used the Time Stone expertly to thwart Dormamu, why wouldn't he at least attempt to use it in that fight with Thanos during the point at which he believes there is a possibility they can defeat him then and there. You know what I mean? Why not use every resource at your disposal.

Quill flips the fuck out and jars Thanos from Mantis' power when he attacks? Whoops, redo...

I agree with you. I wasn't a fan of his cowardness either. What I'm thinking will happen is that once Hulk accepts this loss and gets past it that he will be more like he is in the comics and go all out.

He knew everything - every detail - about every scenario in which they lost and he one in which they won.

I agree, although I think World Breaker Hulk vs. Thanos without the Gauntlet would be a closer fight.

I would imagine the power of the reality stone couldve countered the same thing he tried against Dormamu. but the fact he didnt use it at all is confusing
