The movie kept on talking about balance right? A pussified hulk in this movie means an all out ass kicking hulk in the next one!

Hopefully! I think it's a maturing process we are seeing with the Hulk. He'll eventually become smarter and realize he needs to suck it up that he lost and he'll come back angrier and stronger.

It was pretty interesting how Vision and Scarlet Witch, two of the heaviest hitters on the entire team, were getting handled rather easily by the two goons in Scotland, and then when Cap, Window, and Falcon show up, they dispatch the baddies pretty easily. How does that work? Black Widow's karate must > Scarlet Witch's chaos magic.

I've watched nearly all of the Marvel movies but I'm not sure I've watched any of them more than once. So if there was some mention of Thanos or the Infinity Stones in Iron Man 2 or whatever, then my remembrance of that is long gone (which doesn't seem unreasonable to me).

I think that this film could've benefited from a quite prologue that explains what the Infinity stones are and who Thanos is. It doesn't have to take long. Just a few minutes to give a quick overview and bring everyone up to speed.

We’re you taking a piss when Wong, Banner, and Strange broke it down for Tony in the sanctum? Or when the Collector broke it down for the GotG in their movie?

You’re usually more astute than that.

Pretty damn close to what happened when I watched it.

With 2 it was extra quiet and eerie. Like no one was munching or drinking. Everyone was like oh shit she’s going to die.. fucked up!

5 was special.. if any scene deserved an award it would be the Spider-Man death.. he sold that completely.
Dude agree all the way. What was really weird with 2 was the next scene was Capt America landing in Wakanda, so Okoye's opening Wakandan borders joke to T'Challa didn't really land. People weren't ready to laugh yet.

This was certainly better than Justice League. No doubt about that.

But I feel like the smaller films tend to have stories that feel more original and interesting. Winter Soldier, for instance, is basically a spy thriller in the garb of a superhero movie.

This film basically felt like 2 1/2 hours of fight scenes and that just isn't enough to keep me on the edge of my seat.

But if it worked for you, hey, more power to you.

Frankly, I found Infinity War to be quite boring. Unlike say, The First Avenger, which kept me glued throughout. Funny how that works.

I'd say so. In Ragnarok it started to look like the momentum was big-time shifting in Thor's favor in the latter stages of the arena fight and he didn't have his signature weapon in that.
that and he was able to seriously injure Thanos while he has the full powered gauntlet on, while Iron Man could barely draw blood with 2 stones missing. He'll obviously play a big role in defeating Thanos

not gonna lie, mainly due to hearing about Weaving not being involved, i had absolutely no clue the Red Skull would just randomly show up

and then not having read through the thread yet, clearly we know many of the 'snap deaths' are coming back due to movies in the works/contracts and whatnot and then just knowing the comic storyline in general, but still is pretty crucial when you are watching it happen 'in real time' so to speak.

totally expected the chick to vapor in front of Black Panther, did a good job subverting expectations w/ him instead (clearly he can't be gone long term w/ such a huge solo movie). They got me good on that one

in fairness to BW she was having to do most of the fighting for both of them

It’s like the UFC. Styles makes fights.

No wonder u scored it so low. U way too casual and didn’t know anything about the infinity war/gauntlet..

Yeah my theater didn’t laugh at that either and we laughed on almost all the jokes.

That is a first, most people I know find First Avenger to be the worse of the Marvel movies.

Also I could of done without the end credits, when Captain Marvel logo popped up I just like 'meh' like really was hoping for FF or X-Men.

I'm not saying I was totally lost. I think I understood the broad strokes of the plot. But I do think some things are just not well explained, like the exact powers of each infinity Stone and what happens (precisely) when all are collected.

And as for anything that was explained to anybody in GotG, that shit was like 4 years ago or whatever. Maybe all of those little details would be fresher in my mind if I had marathoned all the MCU movies in preparation for this one, but how many people are actually gonna do that?

Like I said, a quick four-minute prologue at the beginning of the film that sums up everything that's been presented in earlier movies solves that problem.

Isn't he 2-0 against hulk already? Avengers and Ragnarok

When did Thor beat Hulk in Avengers? Hulk was tossing Thor around at the time that jet showed up and started firing at Hulk.

Watch from 3:00 on

it was easily the worst CA movie imo.... dunno if its the worst Marvel movie overall though

Really? Yeah, it's weird how that works. I would have never thought anyone didn't like First Avenger.

Captain Marvel is beyond extremely meh. But I would have absolutely lost my shit if the XMEN logo popped up on the pager. (They'll have to win me over with the F4). Though I supposed either are vastly more interesting than Captain Marvel.

Yeah, I represent the casual viewer here. That's exactly right.

Not everyone who went to see this movie has watched all the previous films 5x a piece and/or read the comics. All the writers have to do is add a few key scenes that take that into account.

maybe i'm retarded and missed it, but did they explain why Hulk wouldn't come out?
i presume it's because he got chumped by the stronger/equal Thanos, but i don't recall it ever being addressed till he just started being able to do it again

That was absolute PIS.
what was? its fucking Thor lol..... and he literally said mid movie that he was going to get a "thanos killing weapon" lol

foreshadowing ftw ;)

The First Avenger is underrated. That film deserves more respect than it gets.
