Movies AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR v.12

Coming into IW I was slightly nervous because it was the culmination of twenty movies worth of hype. But goddamn that movie blew me away. Most fun I've had watching a movie since I was a little kid. TBH they have my complete trust now. Im curious to see how they try to top themselves, and I know they WILL try. They have been incredibly ambitious with this universe.

Yea it's pretty insane how well done that movie was. Can't remember the last time I was so excited for a Bluray release so I can watch it while getting fucked up and replaying anything I want when I want. I told my wife for my birthday I just want some a lone time in the house to play games and do whatever they fuck I want. She's taking my son to her moms, daughter is going to her grandmas, and wife is going to help a friend move. After gaming I'm taking a break and re watching IW.

I thought him doing the plays/acting fit perfectly with the tone of the movie and the era it was set in.

Agree on Winter Soldier.

Oh I agree it fit into the movie fine. It was just unnecessary in an already long movie that didn't have much action in it.

In the movies, i believe he had a version of the super soldier serum that Cap had
It wasnt as good as Cap's so it left him fucked up looking

Yep that's exactly what it was so he should be able to do whatever Cap can do to some extent.

I'm actually very worried. This movie had it all. As much as I love Marvel, I don't think they can surpass the awesomeness of this one.

I'm still crossing my fingers though.

Dont be, Kevin, Russos said A4 will be better than IW. Given MCU's success, Ill take their word for it. Keep in mind, they did reshoots this summer as well.

The score was on point with the mood and feel from moment to moment. They did a good job.

Also liked the timing and execution of the comedy. Didnt feel overly done.

Thoughts, did it occur to anyone when hulk didnt wanna come out, why didnt iron man just drop banner from the sky to trigger hulk from coming out?

I think at that point they might have been scared that he would just die if the Hulk wont come out to save him. If I had one flaw with this movie it was the way Hulk was handled I didn't like it. Hopefully they give him some big scenes in the new one. I'm hoping for some type of power up also. They should have him change colors and make it his new stronger form or something.

I know everyone keeps harping on about Quill's dumbass move when trying to get off Thanos' gauntlet, but since I've now seen this with the family 3x, and I saw it like twice in theaters, I've noticed a couple more moments of bad decision making...

1. Cap's whole "we don't trade lives" is fucking RETARDED!!! Vision was ready, willing, and able to trade his life for the universe, but let's instead go with the more complicated, time consuming, and stupid plan of somehow removing the Mind Stone without killing him. One life to save the universe is more than fair. He fucking died anyway! (and yes, I'm fully aware that it would go against the tone of the Avengers movies to allow Vision to commit suicide via Wanda, but I'm talking pure logic here)

2. Why the fuck was Thor fucking around with Thanos' fodder and the random space ships, when the most important person in Wakanda at the time, Vision and his Mind Stone, needed guarding? Aside from Scarlet Witch, who along with Doc Strange is hilariously depowered in the movies, Thor was easily the most powerful Avenger on that field. He could have kept Thanos from getting the stone.

3. Where was Gamorra's resolve? What's the point of taking him to the Soul Stone to save your sister's life, when he mind end up killing her anyway with his engame, and there was far from a guarantee he would even live up to his bargain? He's shown nothing but contempt for Nebula.

Dr Strange was going one on one with thanos without even using the stone. I'm not sure he was hilariously depowered at all to be honest.

Im ok with hulk getting out skilled by thanos but i wasnt too fond on the comedy tone between banner and hulk. Literally you have the universe in stake here. It should have been a serious tone with banners struggle

Yea Hulk getting beat down was great and showed just how powerful Thanos is (even without the stones). Just didn't enjoy Hulk never wanting to come back out after that. If they redeem him in AV4 then I'll understand it more because honestly this is like a 2 part movie more than it is a stand alone movie.

i found it was the perfect introduction to the character. we had to start somewhere with steve rogers and i'm fine with the story and action that went with it. just the right amount for an origin movie. one of the better origin movies Marvel/Disney has done IMO

add to my last, we needed an intro like Cap's because we needed to understand the type of man he was, his morals, his virtues, to establish his character for this culmination of what became the Avengers and the events taking place now. IMO out of all the origin movies, with maybe the exception of Iron Man, this movie gave us the most character depth and back story to help the audience put themselves in Rogers shoes.

i found it was the perfect introduction to the character. we had to start somewhere with steve rogers and i'm fine with the story and action that went with it. just the right amount for an origin movie. one of the better origin movies Marvel/Disney has done IMO

Yea origin or intro super hero movies with MCU tend to ethier be avg or it can seem flat for some ppl but like you said, you gotta start somewhere before leveling up your character

It does a tremendous job of making a perfect, do-good, always does the right thing type of character actually likeable. It establishes who Steve Rogers is as a person, his morals, views on life, why he is who he is. So when he says cheesy shit in Avengers like “we’ll do it together!” it doesn’t come off as fake or forced; it’s actually pretty badass because we know that this guy will fight until he has no fight left. Without CAP1 establishing who he is we would view him like Batman in JL “why is he doing this!?!”

The First Avenger did have some cheese moments, however that light and happy song and dance number contrasted with the following scene of him in dark gloomy Germany with hard veteran soldiers telling him to fuck off was done well. It was to show that even with his new super soldier body he still was being viewed and treated as worthless. It took him taking lead on something he felt strongly about and leading others to action. Aha! Character building! Maybe a little heavy handed but fun.

Caps arch over his trilogy was easily the best in the MCU and it all started with TFA. I’d rank it top 3 behind Iron Man and Black Panther. Spiderman Homecoming was good too, so I can see TFA falling to 4.

Keep in mind, so many people were doubtful of Evans ability to portray a character like Cap. He knocked it out of the fucking park and will always be Captain America to me.

And let's remember where we are at at the end of IW. Thor has a kick ass axe that can kill Thanos. Tony, Banner, Nebula, Rocket, Cap, Hawkeye, Antman, War Machine, and then probably Captain Marvel are all still around.
The gauntlet is busted, so Thanos shouldn't be able to use it.

Captain Marvel isn't necessarily needed to beat Thanos. With Thor's new weapon, along with the rest of the Avengers, it feels like they should be able to defeat him.

Fixing the damage is another story though

Thanos used it right after the snap to leave the area. It still works.
