No, Steve, I don't think it's a plot hole and neither does the physical impossibility of plucking a gem that was masquerading as a star bother me in the slightest. INFINITY WAR is rife with plot contrivances and convenient decisions and I had zero problem with any of it. To please the court. Your honor.

It says the Skull is free to seek one of the Infinity Stones. It doesn't mean he'll find them. I don't think they'll be destroyed, but they will probably out of reach of Red Skull and everyone else. Apart from the Time Stone, which Dr Strange will continue to use.

Ya but we saw Banners reaction to be locked away inside the Hulk for a couple years in Thor Ragnarok so its understandable that Hulk might feel similarly as he is typically locked away for far longer periods.
 
You know, I know it wouldn't make any sense -- but really, does the Soul Stone make ANY sense? -- there should be a Fortune Stone just so you can do CGI riches like Scrooge McDuck, and it might give another layer of Thanos' ability to wrangle troops beyond, you know, "I'll kill y'all."

I'm an MCU mark and Braveheart is on my top 5 list. Having said that, the Battle of Pellenor Fields is my favourite sequence. Gets the caveman in me riled up.

No earlthy clue what movie or show you or anyone else is talking about when it comes to scenes.

Say, when jon snow is alone on the battle field...or when wallace baits the english with exposure then moons....or the beginning sequence of gladiator. I know all those battles without their dvd scene titles.

Lord Of The Rings : Return of the King. Siege of Minas Tirith. The Rohirrim (horse dudes) arrive and charge the siege army from behind. Olyphants (huge battle elephants), Witch King, hobbits, oh my!
 
That’s the one thing that I fault the MCU over. Levity. Many of their serious moments lack the gravity it deserves.

Maybe Avengers 4 will have it. I need to see Cap deliver a battle speech before he dies.

In Thor Ragnarok, Banner spoke specifically about how scary it was being locked away inside Hulk for years and yet Banner always locks Hulk away for years at a time. Banner says he hates Hulk every chance he gets and yet calls on Hulk to save him ("come on big guy") every time Banner gets himself in a trouble spot. So Hulk basically said F-You to Banner and refused to save his ass.

If that theory ends up being correct then Hulk not coming out will have made perfect sense.

It’s more than a theory. The directors actually spelled that out in an interview.

I think they fucked up and didn't convey to the audience what was going on.

Everyone myself included thought Hulk was being a sore loser Ronda Rousey type

They will go out of their way to explain this in the next one, more so than they normally would have due to the reaction

I think it was not supposed to be clear and was only to be a series of clues going back to Thor R as Banner himself was not supposed to be sure what was going on.

Yeah but I don't think they wanted the audience to think Hulk was a bitch - they wouldn't intentionally set out to slander a character that badly

I do. I think they wanted people to doubt. The whole 'is Hulk afraid' and then in the next movie the big cheer re his redemption as they realize, hell naw, he was not afraid, now here is the true Hulk, as he goes toe to toe with Thanos and his Children.

If they gave out to early that Hulk was just mad at Banner it would have got tiring in that it might have appeared to be a soap opera as someone else said upthread. We would all be like 'get over it you big suck'.

I can see Hulk getting a standing ovation next movie when returns to form.

And the Infinity stones better be gone by the time Avengers 4 cause these magic unto buttons can't remain for credible story purposes.

Agreed after the infinity saga is over I'd like for them to be done with the infinity stones stuff. Destroy them or whatever.
