After 75 years or so stuck on Vormir, the Red Skull sounded a lot less arrogant than he did in First Avenger. I wouldn't mind seeing him brought back as an Anti-Hero.

How cool would it be to see Red Skull fight side by side with Cap against Thanos?

A Nazi Anti-Hero??

Skull is the most purely evil Marvel character ever. If they anti-hero him then we lose. Its bad enough the Anti-Hero'd Doom.

Good for Marvel. It's all down hill from here though. Why did they have to make Thanos into a misguided environmentalist. It would have been metal to see a mistress death character in the movie. That would have given Thanos a better reason to kill half the universe.
DC about to take over with Aquaman and Shazam

MCU Skull was never a true Nazi. He's the Jew Hunter with Super Powers; the Nazis were simply a means to an end. In First Avenger, Schmidt plans to wipe Berlin off the map, and kills three Nazis who find out his plan.

It's canon in the MCU that Schmidt regarded Nazi racial theories with contempt. Partly because they were based on bad science and partly, since he believed himself superior to all humans, because racial differences were meaningless to him. This is one of the many reasons he's so pissed at Cap,

"You could have the power of the Gods! Yet you wear a flag on your chest and fight the battle of nations. I have seen the future, Captain, and there are no Flags!"

If you follow the arc of Hydra throughout the MCU, you can see that while they are still obviously the Bad Guys, there is a subtle shift in their aims from outright evil for selfish ends, to a perverse, end justifies the means way of protecting the world. Whether the world wants their protection or not.

Red skull would never help cap lmao

They teamed up to take down Hate Monger, who was a clone of Adolf Hitler.

Also, there have been stories where the Skull has made it perfectly clear that no one is allowed to kill Captain America except him.

Kind of like Rasputin in Hellboy. Not a real Nazi, but still evil af. They would absolutely ruin this character if they anit-hero'd him. IMHO.

Disagree. Comic book Thanos is Ser Jorah with God-level powers. His motivations are entirely selfish; he gets Friend Zoned by Mistress Death and wipes out half the life in the universe just so he can get his dick wet. And it doesn't even work.

He's a complete douche. It's hard to feel anything but disgust for a lot his actions.

MCU Thanos still does terrible things, but at least he's doing them for what he believes is a greater cause. He's a monster, but to a certain extent one can admire his courage and strength while still rooting for the good guys.

Well to be honest I don't see it happening either, even though I think it would be awesome. Much more likely he really does, "Make Hydra Great Again" by rebuilding the organisation under his leadership.

MCU Thanos is a very confusing villain. His relationship with Gamora is super confusing. Why does he love her yet he's pulling Nebula apart. And how exactly does killing half the universe solve overpopulation. Won't that problem just happen all over again?

Why didnt he permanently solve the overpopulation problem with the gauntlet? All those movies and extra credit scenes just so Thanos could put a band-aid on his op problem.

Thanos was a worshiper of Death. Him killing half the universe would have made more sense as an act of worship to death. You wouldn't even have to go the mistress route.

1)Gamora was always his favourite. He regarded Nebula as a disappointment.

2)Fair comment, and that has been pointed out by many others. Thanos's plan was flawed on several levels.

3)Making him a death lover turns him into a one-dimensional villain. Personally, I prefer the MCU version.

Thanos has a learning disability

Did you ever see CAP when USADA was in place. He is definitely not fighting clean now

Haha reminds me when Sam said Steve could do Ultimate Fighting. Steve would be HW champ instantly.

Spoilers

I finally saw this. It's been killing me, but I wasn't able to go to the theater and I wasn't about to watch some shitty stream. What a fucking stellar movie!

I love the MCU, it's like an epic tv series. Like any great series though (Babylon 5 comes to mind) there are episodes better than others, and some that were downright disappointing (Black Panther, Thor 2, Iron Man 3 for ex). Babylon 5 had some suspect episodes, but like the MCU, they helped flesh out the characters while improving the world building more, all leading to a compelling/satisfying payoff. I love that there's more to come.

I really liked Thanos in this. He reminds me of Gal Ducat from Star Trek Deep Space 9. The best villains have motivations you can understand, and empathize with, even if their methods are monstrous. Seeing Thanos smile at the end, while enjoying the sunset capped the film off perfectly. It makes you want to feel good for him in a way, despite knowing the lives he destroyed.

I'm curious to see how they reverse some of the deaths. If this was any other property, I'd be pessimistic, but :eek::eek:e has earned my trust.

Like you @Dragonlordxxxxx (great review btw) I felt they could have built up Thanos and his crew's arrival more, but the stage was set right off the bat when Thanos schooled Hulk and killed Loki. I also felt that there may have been a bit too much humor at times, but I'd only be nitpicking with any negatives. WHat they did over the past 10 years and through this film is incredible.

The scope and emotion, along with the wide range of characters having their motivations so clear and grounded, despite the outlandish abilities, is so well put together, I can't say enough about how special this saga has become. Unlike Disney's Star Wars, they've remained true to the characters a lot of us grew up with, never sacrificing the old for the new.

I gave this movie a 10 score. While i don't feel it's a 10, I think it's better than a 9, and there's no option for a 9.5

So long as :eek::eek:e and the Russo bros and leading the charge, we're in for even more epic installments, I can't wait!
