Eh..I disagree with that characterization.
I didn't see BP as an "empowerment" film.
I thought the story was interesting and was curious to see where they took it in the future. As a hero, and a leader of a nation, BP is a unique character, and his Wakandan heritage is a large part of his character. It isn't just some sort of 'black power' play.
The BP movie was introducing a whole world and culture. It wasn't just focused on TChalla. I imagine we'll get deeper into his character now that we know he is king. And if they really were teasing Namor in End Game thatttttt could lead to some interesting stuff between those two., especially in examining a king's rule
And most origins stories come out being pretty mediocre anyways. Captain Marvel was about as meh as I expected it would be, but it wasn't hardcore pushing an agenda.
Captain Marvel just suffered from a shitty script that didnt go much anywhere, and she's overpowered
He is a different kind of character. He and Wakanda are a package. His identity is tied up with him being a King and leader.BP was better than Captain Marvel but I felt the lead character ended up going in a similar kind of direction, the "conflict" he faced was mostly a reveal of unknown previous history moreso than a personal challenge.

I saw that movie as showing us his world and culture, so I didn't really expect to focus on personal challenges.
The movie was more about Wakanda than him. I'm sure we'll dive deeper into who he is as the movies progress
That's my secret. I'm always triggered!lololol you are funny dude, triggered as fuck
maybe 2.5 bill finish?
I would say higher, it just did another 145 mil its 2nd weekend and $23 mil between monday and tuesday. It could add another 100 mil pretty easily between now and monday putting it at 2.372 and that doesn't include international sales.
yeah i think it will be JUST shy of avatar in the end. lets see.
So are we taking bets on who the new openly gay superhero we already know is?? Russo’s can’t wait for the big reveal and the future of brilliant diversity in marvel movies.

Keep the faith boys it’s going to take out avatar.
Yep that's my expectation as well, he'll become a more individual character rather than a foil for Cap he was previously but he likely will not take on the same significance in the story. If we get another Cap film it will likely be heavily team focused.
I think moreso than characters or actors an issue Marvel might have in the future is that they've been releasing some quite bland "empowerment" films in Black Panther and Captain Marvel that have failed to add much dramatic tension to the characters involved. I mean Black Panther in Civil War was quite interesting being slow to forgive and vengeful but became much less so in his own film.
Lol at jim cameronit still has a flair of elitist to it. Cameron sounds like a toolbag.
Maybe im wrong, but him addressing it sounds like hes triggered by it
