Doc Doom needs the short skirt like in comics so people can get hot and bothered wondering if there's underpants underneath. As is, looks like Ironman with cape.

Needs more disfigurement

You really think they're gonna pay RDJ north of $60 Million and then cover his face or beat him with the Ugly Stick?

A comic accurate Doom would be like Karl Urban's Dredd: the helmet/mask would never be removed. But as I said, if they were going that route, you could hire RDJ for a much lower fee to do voice work and stick a random stuntman in the suit. Pretty much how they did Mandalorian.

So yeah, as soon as they announced RDJ as Doom, I knew we weren't getting the version from the comics. He'll be unmasked for probably most of the scenes, and he'll look like Tony Stark with some very minor scarring.

Damn you for being right, KT lol

I'll settle for Infamous Iron Man, then.

I'm fully expecting Doom to be a Stark variant. Want proof, they hired the same actor who played Stark to play doom 😂.

I hate when they do this.

The only hope I have is this is picture is A)fake rage-bait put out there for clicks or B)Marvel have leaked it themselves to gage fan reaction. And given the almost universal disgust, they will change course and give us a Doom that's closer to the comic's version.

That said, given how epically Marvel have been fucking up recently, that hope is slimmer than a supermodel on Ozempic. :(

They already wasted Giancarlo on a minor character

Ultron is awesome and they really could have done so much more with him. I hope that he makes a comeback. Give me Annihilation Wave Ultron.

Red Skull, Ultron, Green Goblin...the MCU has a bad habit of making iconic Villains one and done. :(

That's all super hero movies though it seems.

At least they had Thanos hang for a while.

True. And they had the patience to build him up slowly. Thanos was first teased at the end of Avengers, had an after credits scene in Age of Ultron and a bigger role in GoTG. Thanos' ship appears at the end of Thor: Ragnarok and sets up the beginning of Infinity War. That's four movies and six years to set the stage for the ultimate Big Bad.

By contrast, there will be less than two years between RDJ being announced in the role and Doomsday being released.

You just can't have villains hang around with how infrequently movies get made compared to comics; either you snub a bunch of people's favorite villains, relegate them to unbecoming bit parts or leave plot threads hanging for a decade or more before you can give them another major role.

Well that probably has more to do with Jonathan Major's issues than anything else. Kang was supposed to be the big bad, and they were slowly building him up just like Thanos until Major had his issues causing them to drop him and have to rework everything and bring in Doom as the big bad. That said, they still have a few more chances to introduce the character. It would be incredible if he's not at least in a post credit scene for Fantastic 4 and possibly Thunderbolts as well.
