Well, OK, maybe we don't know he is the greatest just yet, and maybe it's not an exposure since everyone knows HW is super weak- but still.

Why isn't there more of a hype train for him? Look a little more closely at his record. His only legit loss was in 2015, which was way too long ago to matter. Other than that, he has 11 first round finishes and one second round finish, and that's his career.

That is easily the most impressive resume at HW right now besides Francis, who has had more opportunity, but IMO hasn't been more impressive; he couldn't beat Stipe when Stipe was still good. Francis has split 2 fights with Stipe and a cuddling session with Gane on the ground, and that is the only thing that even compares. Compare Gane's fight with Volkov to Aspinall's.

Look at Aspinall's ground game compared to Gane and Francis; there is NO comparison. I think he is what we THOUGHT Gane was going to be before he laid there getting spooned by Francis. That fight was pathetic, and I don't see how there isn't more leeway given to Aspinall being the future champion, and HW FINALLY having a good champion.

I’m a big fan of his it there are still question marks - stamina, chin and how he deals with a big wrestler. Most of those questions will likely be answered tonight. If he knocks out blades or handles him fairly easily then people are gonna start getting excited

Yes, I think Aspinall by sub is more likely than Blaydes by GnP TKO.
Maybe Blaydes can get a late TKO if he gets Aspinall to gas as his cardio is still unknown.

I will be disappointed if he doesn't really handle Blaydes. You are correct that he would still be a major player in the HW division even if he can't tool Blaydes, but therein lies the problem- being a major player in a mediocre division isn't that exciting. I wanted HW to have a top-notch champ because it isn't otherwise that good.

Most underrated? I'm not so sure about that. He's been the favorite in every fight he's been in, minus this one.

The problem isn't Aspinall, its the division. Ngannou wants to leave, DC retired, Stipe is past his prime. Very few HWs with any buzz right now. I'm ready to hop aboard the hype train if he destroys Blaydes.

I think he’ll win tonight, and the difference will be his speed and footwork. His year boxing has absolutely complimented his MMA skills. His balance and footwork is a step above everyone else in the division. Too be a big HW, and so much quicker than anyone else is gonna be a real problem for everyone. But if he does win tonight he’s only got tougher fights ahead

HW does tend to be weak because there aren't that many big guys, so you have a small talent pool given the guys that ARE big and athletic are more likely to do a sport where you don't get punched in the face. My thing is, there have been times (not usually, but sometimes) where you have several really good HW's- Ali's era, or the Pride era. Even the UFC was much better than it is now when we had the prime Cain, JDS, Werdum, Stipe, etc. In any case, I still want a really good champ so at least the HW title fights will be exciting.

I agree he looks much better all around in skills and athleticism than the other HW's, so hopefully tonight will be the charm. Francis and Gane will be tougher, but he is a more complete package I think.
