I mean Topuria is an amazing striker, but I feel like many are skipping over his TDD, without the Islam fight possible. I do have questions about the level of it. He has a base in wrestling but that doesn't mean he's going to be able to keep every fight standing.

I was just about to say this and it seems accurate. On top of this, Ilia's striking game takes a HUGE amount of energy and aggression plus he leaves his leg forward like Jack. Obviously he knows this and I am sure will change things against Arman but in no way is it going to be easy. Josh fought like shit but he still went 5 rounds with Ilia at 38 and both were respecting each others power so the idea that Ilia is superhuman with his punching does not really track. (He is still amazing)

And that was during the pandemic Evloev didn't "pull out" he popped for Covid and the UFC pulled him

A lot of people dont realize how good Arman is. If Islam is a 100 on grappling Arman is like 85 so you are essentially taking on just as much dangerous of a fighter but not even 30% of the Glory for beating him So Topuria is kinda smart. Its kinda similar for Islam defending the 155 belt for the 5th time after a brutal weight cup and a guy from a lower division(and very dangerous fighter too) is much lower reward that going up to Welterweight to chase glory
