Are you really that confident in Topuria against Arman?

Ilia is on a different level. He’s a complete fighter and will smoke Arman. People are acting like Ilia is a one dimensional striker who will get fraud checked in grappling like DDP. IMO he isn’t and will in fact fraud check Arman. Remember, arman was a cunt hair away from losing to Charles, and was beaten at his own game by Gamrot.

Topuria is elite, and people who saw him wrestling against russian wrestlers praised him, if he was taken down, it happened rarely, and he always quickly got up to his feet quickly.

Arman has a chance to maul Topuria, but he would be the underdog. In fact Topuria has more odds to knockout Arman than Arman winning a decision according to many gamblers;

This is the biggest lightweight fight of 2025, could happen in 2026.

And taking down Topuria is hard, as he never throw kicks expect the calf kick, which is hard to catch. He never also throw knees. He is a technical boxer who calf kick. We will see how it will play out.

Good points.

But Top's never throwing knees could work against him/give a grappler more confidence to shoot and get the takedown.

To me this fight is a pick em.

Topuria has never faced near as good a technical offensive grappler as Arman.

Arman has never faced anyone with this level of striking and Topuria has shown he's a grappler himself albeit against lower level guys.

Arman has the proven grappling and cardio, but Topuria has that X factor.

Either Arman cruises to a decision or gets KTFO.

If you watch the Arman vs Charles fight again. He barely won, and he did not look impressive at all. In several of his fights Arman does just barely enough to win.

Topuria is a rare generational talent, I dont see him losing for a long time. He has really abnormal power and has really crisp boxing. Outstriking Max and Volk is a big deal. Both those guys have some of the best striking in UFC. And he has a strong upper torso so he can control alot of clinches, take down attempts.

Arman has fought 3 guys in the top 10. Those 3 fights are a decision loss to Gamrot, TKO over dariush, and his most recent a controversial split decision win over Oliviera a year a half ago. He couldn't make weight and blamed it on a back injury and ruined his title shot. He's done nothing since but tweet about how much he deserves a title shot.

Topuria has made a solid name for himself on people that try to strike with him. I doubt Arman even tests that road until his takedowns are repetitively stuffed. With Illia's lead hands anything could happen so the oddsmakers have their work cut out should we see it.

Think you might wanna watch that fight again..

It is a little concerning Topuria spent the last minute on his back not doing much, but also neither did Mitchell from that position. His corner may have told him not to waste energy getting up though. Besides the 1 takedown at the end of the first round, he defended everything else and then finished Mitchell on the ground.

I think Topuria will do just fine. He has access to high level Georgian wrestling to prepare for this. Tsarukyan is definitely a tough challenge, but Topuria will be the favorite for a reason.

Arman beats him 9/10 times.

I think we get one of the most competitive and interesting match-ups in modern lightweight history, certainly by "in their prime," well rounded and truly elite can be offered in this sport.

Personally I would pick Topuria because he's given us so few reasons to doubt him, but they are very well matched.

I tend to agree -- I haven't seen enough evidence to suggest that Arman doesn't have high enough level striking to set up takedowns, but I also haven't seen enough evidence to suggest that Ilia doeesn't have high enough level defensive wrestling to keep the fight standing or at least get back up to his feet and mitigate offense on the ground. I favor Ilia, but it's a very close fight imo.

I’d pick Arman. He has the style to dominate Topuria. Topuria’s ko win over Charles was impressive, but Charles is chinny. It’s almost like he’s the easiest fight for Topuria of all top lws.

I don't see how he can be counted out. I'd like Arman to win though.

I really hope we dont see a wet blanket trend creeping along again. Usman with 2 knees is back, khamzat is hugging people so hard you would think he was out of the closet, and now mr dont throw punches arman is set to fight for a title soon.

Its like we are regressing. Give me back the usman and khamzat who ko people
So dramatic lol

It pleases the Temple Of Topuria that so many people see the truth, the way and the light. Ilia bless.

As for the heretics and blasphemers, their time is coming soon enough.

Arman plans for major stalling tactics.
People act like he wasnt about to go "night night" against Charles if his shorts didnt fall off

He's willing to vacate the belt to avoid him, money isn't the issue.

No BMF belt was on the line.
