Are the UFC and Mcgregor treating the roster and fans like idiots?

Nate says the UFC and Mcgregor knew that they would wind up fighting each other in the event of a Dos Anjos withdrawal, allegedly as a precursor to a fight with Lawler at UFC200. Even though they offered the fight to others, Neither Edgar, Pettis, Cerrone or anyone else for that matter we're really ever in the running, but we're just really a smoke screen to ensure Mcgregor's fight anyone, anytime, anywhere mantra remained intact.

If there was ever a time where a fighter union was necessary it was now, as there are a few fighters to say the least who's careers are on hold because of the UFC's infatuation with Mcgregor. The reality is Mcgregor should have been made to defend the FW title before moving up, a fight and victory against Edgar would have left no doubt in anyone's minds that Mcgregor had effectively cleaned out the top end of his division and rightfully earned an immediate LW title shot.

Business aside this sport suffers from complacency when it comes to keeping the promoter honest simply because MMA fans lazily accept the twisted farcical logic and outright lies that Dana and co. and now Mcgregor spew to us. The very few that understand the threat that Edgar was to Mcgregor are now deprived of seeing if McGregor even had an answer for Frankie Edgar. This is a fight real fans wanted to see and will now probably never will all because the UFC and McGregor have twisted the truth just enough to convince the masses that Frankie never really wanted the fight and that Mcgregor has moved on.

McGregor won't lift the pay scale or do anything positive for MMA fighters over all, he will just do what he says, light a fire, walk away and watching it burn, shame on MMA fans for thinking that the Martial Arts in Mixed Martial Arts ever stood for anything but greed and selfishness.

(Sigh)..........just watch the fights mate!
But i thought this was an MMA discussion board, and that this particular area of the forum is provided for people that wish to discuss the UFC. Have i committed a bannable offense mr LooseGrenadePin. oh wait a minute your one of these guys. (simply because MMA fans lazily accept the twisted farcical logic and outright lies of Dana and co.)

Refers to it as both "martial arts" and a "sport"....I don't think you understand what you're watching.

MMA are just letters. They don't mean what you want them to and they never will.

Signed up to fight RDA, RDA pulled out.
More has happened then RDA pulling out, if Mcgregor beats Diaz and gets to fight Lawler at 200, he is effectively leapfrogging not only Divisions but no1 contenders, i am all for super fights and I enjoy Mcgregors fights as much as any fan out there and really wish to see how far he can ride this wave, but not at the expense of other fighters like Condit, Edgar, Khabib and Ferguson, and the list goes on, there is plenty of room for Mcgregor to cement a legacy and for those guys to get there rightful opportunities as well.

I'm not sure whether TS is over-thinking things or not thinking at all.

What would you rather him have done? Dude has been training for a title fight, a chance to make history, and the guy pulls out 11 days before it's supposed to happen.

He could've pulled out like most guys, but he took a fight on short notice instead.

He signed up to a 500% tougher fighter than Edgar in RDA. RDA pulled out. What do you want?

Fighters union lol. Will happen. These back biting fighters and stars will never stick with prospects and free TV fighters. Fighting is and will always be a win big lose big profession like acting.

Martial Arts means many things to many people, sport is defined as competition, i think your complicating

Take the most dangerous fight and prove to everyone that you are the #1 LW contender Khabib is the most dangerous fight and he was declined. Pulling fighters from other cards has never been an issue before, but all of a sudden is now.

Ok man......

1) I wouldn't take Nate diaz's mutterings as gospel
2) Even if they had spoken to him before, that's good planning. Half on McGregors opponents don't make the fight so having a plan b for a big event makes sense.
3) Offering the fight around is to explore all options.....again good planning
4) Everyone understands Edgar is a threat....your not in an elite enlightened few with this opinion
5) Edgar is injured.....there's no conspiracy and he's not been frozen out.....edgar has said he can't fight because he's injured!
6) McGregor is going to have a long term poositive influence on the sport....and even if he doesn't, so what? For some fighters it is just a job that they wanna clock into, do their time, and clock out.

In summary the Diaz fight is one of many that could have come about as there are a number of fights the fans would have been happy to see. Even if it was mentioned to Diaz in advance doesn't make it a done deal. And I can't stress this enough......Edgar is injured, he ain't fighting anyone!

Khabib said fighting in March was an issue, now all of a sudden it's not.

Cmon man, so your beef is he's not fighting the guy you want him to fight on short notice?

No ones career was put on hold except ironically Conor's since he is no longer fighting for a belt. Edgar would have gotten the fight but he's injured and Cerrone has no more claim than Diaz

Blame RDA if you wanted to see Conor tested. Doesnt know how to train and doesnt have balls to show up a little injured for "easiest fight of his career"

The ufc wants to do good numbers as well. All the media asked fans online who they wanted to see fight Conor and the answer was overwhelmingly diaz on most of them.

Not only was it not a problem as recently as UFC 194 the UFC declared that Frankie would be the replacement should Aldo pull out again. Dana has always had a selective amnesia.

All the talk of Nate being this preselected alternate really shines a light on Danas comments about Edgar and Aldo. They served no other purpose than to publicly insult both fighters. Let's not forget just because Dana offers you the fight that doesn't mean you will get it. Frankie said he was offered the fight last July to replace Aldo at 189. They still gave it to Chad because that's who Conor wanted to fight.
