Boxing and mma and wrestling are 3 different sports. You can be a good mma fighter and wrestler but SUCK at boxing. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

Don't think you know what literally means.. Askren would take another mans life in a real fight? Like with his hands?? Yeah maybe a 12 year old kid, those pillow fists ain't killing nobody..
 
I think Askren could win if this fight was in a year from now and he applied his Olympic level wrestling and championship MMA training mentality to exclusively training boxing for a year. He's a legit high level combat sports athlete and I think with sufficient preparation time he could figure out a way to improve and potentially win.

However.... the fight is less than 3 months away. I just can't see how he could possibly make up the ground in that little time, and there is no doubt that he is a significantly worse boxer than Jake Paul right now. Unfortunately he will likely get beaten up pretty bad in April.

The guys jake paul has beaten...litterally had to learn how to punch properly...we can assume outside of hood fights nate robinson had zero combat experience going into his camp...

Askren has been hitting pads for atleast a decade...his striking in unrefined for sure but with a camp dedicated to just punching and not punching and kicking..knees..wrestling...submissions and GNP...and then combining all of them...hes gunna be alot higher level then weve seen in his MMA career...


I think he stands a good chance of winning just be by the fact hes a pro fighter and isnt an retired NBA Player or fellow Youtube con artist...which is the guys jake has beaten so far lol...big difference mentally when dealing with the two

Aksren whos a championship level MMA fighter and championship level wreslter understands what its like to prepare for professional fighters...he will take this dedication into his boxing only training and his stand up will dramatically change as he doesnt have to train for everything else MMA intales... He will have a whole camp dedicated to punching likely with Olympic level coaches...anyone who doesnt think he will be good enough to beat some guy whos slightly above the level of Nate Robinson a NBA player FFS ...is well...dumb

Ya i dont know. He used to brag about how he didnt train striking. If he had even rudimentary stand up skills and respected striking in his mma career, he'd be a much better fighter. At this point in pure boxing hes little better than a beginner. Jake Paul is a millionaire and can afford proper coaches too. Paul is by no means a good boxer but you dont have to be good to beat ben askren in boxing.

Yeah but money cant buy the work ethic to be an Olympian level wrestler or champion in MMA...

Thats were the difference is gunna lay...its the classic rich kid whos popular and beats up on those he knows he can beat with expensive trainers he pays for ( yes men) vs a guy who clawed his way to the top and fought for a living all around the world successfully...theres no substitute for hard work and heart

In these stories the rich kid doesnt end up doing so well...

Askren needs to come Vegas and practice some dirty clinch boxing with Randy Couture. That's his only chance to win.
 
Askren has some of the worst boxing that any high level mma fighter has. Absolute trash.

Jake Paul cherry picked this matchup and is going to fuck Ben up. It’ll be sad.

Doesnt change the fact in every camp hes been in ...hes done some form of striking ...which would equate to a decades worth of striking training...yes not super refined striking training but hes still put in hours ...


With a dedicated focused camp , and singular discipline (boxing only) ...you might be surprised what u see or i might be eating crow

So Royce Gracie vs Jake Paul means Gracie wins in boxing due to being a pro fighter? No idea how much boxing Jake has done but if Ben has been training boxing his entire career he is in trouble. His striking is below average for a Sherdogger.

Luckily for Paul this isnt MMA or Olympic wrestling. Paul isnt some random nerd. Hes decently athletic and is more than competent enough to beat this guy in a boxing match:



Honestly, YEARS of mma training and this is what Ben does in striking? Theres probably people in my local boxing gym that could knock him out in a boxing match.

Askren needs to use clinch cleverly.
If he ties Jake for 3 rounds he'll tire him out and will do what he wants in rd 4-8.
His clinch conditioning is on another level, than youtube youngster's.
