Some people are just naturally not great strikers and it really doesn’t matter how much they train. Askren is one of these people and will lose to Paul, who is just naturally much better than him even with limited training. This is all assuming that this match doesn’t have more than 6 rounds.

I think everyone is forgetting the fact... Askren use to train for MMA and for MMA he has to use his wrestling ... Its his greatest weapon and hes allowed to use...
Without having to worry about flying knees and other variables in MMA , a boxing match is considerably simpler...not easier but less complex..
Aksren whos a championship level MMA fighter and championship level wreslter understands what its like to prepare for professional fighters...he will take this dedication into his boxing only training and his stand up will dramatically change as he doesnt have to train for everything else MMA intales... He will have a whole camp dedicated to punching likely with Olympic level coaches...anyone who doesnt think he will be good enough to beat some guy whos slightly above the level of Nate Robinson a NBA player FFS ...is well...dumb

Jake has actively trained boxing for years and is decent at it.
Askren has always had terrible boxing and has seemingly never wanted to get better at it.

I really don't want to come off like I'm supporting Jake Paul because I find him to be a useless human.... but...
Askren has terrible boxing, striking in general. Arm punch pitter-patter won't work in a real boxing match. With boxing rules he won't have any of his natural strengths available to him.
Paul on the other hand, while lacking combat experience, seems to be taking training relatively seriously. he looked to have decent fundamentals in that last match, hard as it was to really grade much based on his opponent's total lack of skill.
ultimately I see this as less of a newbie vs long time combat sport veteran, because boxing is just not Ben's skill set. it's more like newb vs newb where one (Jake) seems to be more fundamentally sound at this particular game.
I hope Ben wins, just to avoid the onslaught of false hope and hype that Jake winning would bring against MMA, but I'm not super optimistic.

Askren isnt learning how to punch for the first time like a nate robinson...hes been striking for years...albeit unpolished but thats the point of the camp to clean it all up..
We are talking professional fighter vs a guy slightly above street brawler status...its not impossible jake can K.O. him but my money is on the guy who made his loving off fighting not youtube skits
