Anyone feel like Lopes has it against Volk?

Feel like UFC doesn't hate Volk, but wants Lopes to run the division or some exciting younger fighter because they know Volk's days are numbered anyways. It's like they want to rematch until Lopes wins.

I feel they are opposite career trajectories but I wouldn't mind being wrong. But right now I feel Diego has all the grappling advantage and it will come down to striking once again

So can Volk outstrike him for 5 rounds? KO him? Finish him with GnP?

Lopes is really good and a tough motherfucker, but Volk did really well and even in his older age is elite with only losing to Topuria and Islam.

However, while that performance was impressive from Volk I think he definitely slowed down a bit and his ability to take a shot isn't as good as it use to be. Lopes is gonna make the better adjustments here in my opinion and Volk taking a whole year off at 37 years old doesn't do him any favors.

I'm leaning Lopes here and I think he'll get a KO after a few competitive exchanges.

This is it, as much as like Lopes and I really wanted him to win the first fight.

Lopes is just a notch below Volk and he will not be able to close that gap for this fight. Volk either wins this outright or father time finally delivers the death blow to Volk and his age will affect him and Lopes will win due to this.

I love Diego Lopes as a fighter. I always carry a certain special affinity for fighters I spot early on and that is a dude I have had my eye on for a while. He brings it. Bangers pretty much every time.

But he was clear as day just not on Volk's level and I believe that fight was about 1-2 fights after "Old Man Volk" was born.

He hasn't had sufficient time or tune ups to illicit a sufficient "leveling up" of his game. Big win vs what's his name... dog barking meathead guy... that was lovely but more showed me other dude has work to do than Lopes has become elite of the elite.

Last time he was boxing vs Volk having a full mma tool set. It was not enough and that was not all that long ago.

Prime Volk beats Lopes and its not tough . Slide Volk - this is a flip fight go either way. Lopes was lucky Silva has zero fight IQ . Hes a good fighter but I dont think Lopes is all that other than a good fun fighter.
