Anyone else think Moose would DESTROY Izzy?

No.

Lima is a WW. Yesterday meant nothing.

Izzy outclasses any version of Mousasi. Moose had his hands full with Machida and Uriah Hall, and got clobbered on the feet by Jacare of all people in their rematch.

Folks always think Moose defeats the champ. It’s a shame he can never beat the contenders in order to reach the champ. Weird how that works.

This, end of story.

Adesanya struggled with WW Gastelum who only has 1-2 combo, won a SD against Vettori and barely beat past prime Romero.

You know, I can do this for every fighter ;)

Vettori is turning out to be a very good fighter though.

For a man with his amount of losses and they speak of him as if he's this legendary demi god people sleep on. He Is a good fighter, but not elite.

I like Moose a lot. He's overrated to many, underrated to many, and properly rated to a few. He's simultaneously given too much credit from some but not merely enough from others. He isn't GOAT tier and on his best nights he is close to elite, but you're right.

here's a better question: is there a MW that walked this earth that Mousasi CANNOT beat?

listening to his fans it's like this guy destroys everyone he fights.

I'll tell you one thing, I'll fuck Moose up in UFC Undisputed 3. No question.

Mousasi has always been great, but has always fight with an inferior style: static muay thai + BJJ. The problem with this is that it isn't dynamic and it doesn't blend together the transition of striking to BJJ well. He strikes like he's stuck in the mud and won't dictate where the fight takes places against people with better wrestling. That was extremely effective in like 2000-2010. Mousasi gets away with it at the top today because he's just so good. The sport's evolved past that though and he'll never be a champion.

Mousasi CAN'T dictate where a fight goes if he's fighting someone with better wrestling.

See his fight vs King Mo for an example.

King Mo? We're talking about the top level man. He can't get championship strikers down, and he can't keep championship wrestlers/ grapplers off of him. And he's champion level at neither of those things, so if he can't dictate where it takes place, he's screwed.

It's a style limitation. He got really good at the individual parts of MMA, but never got good at MMA. He doesn't chain it together well enough to beat specialists, and he's not specialist enough get away with bad chaining. See Fedor, Chimaev, DC,etc. as guys with great chaining.

Mousasi will make it a better fight than all previous Izzy opponents. He's such a disciplined striker to let Izzy just make another Costa of him. I think it's a toss up.

The fight will be like the Lima fight though I expect.

Moose in 2015-2016 I'd give a fair shot still would favor Izzy

I'd be fucking hyped if that fight would ever happen. I hope Gegard will try to make one last attempt at going at it in the UFC. He wasn't excluding the possibility of a potential fight with Izzy. He should act and act fast though, he isn't getting any younger.
