So It's offical. Dana says The LHW belt is up for grabs, and supposedly Jan and Reyes are fighting for it.

Is there anyone here who truly believed that Jones would one day move to heavy weight?

He's been alluding to this since 2013, and it's pretty much always been nothing but hot air. I always thought he didn't have the frame to be a good HW and also his lack of punching power is apparent. I Quite frankly, Could never see him doing good at HW. I Always assumed he thought the same thing.

I think One thing is certain, if Jones goes to HW. He is NEVER coming back to LHW. his career in that weight class is over. If he really wants success at HW, he needs to put on weight.

So, hats off to Jones. Who proved me wrong on something I so staunchly believed he would never do.

There's literally nothing left for him but rematches and possibly a fight with Jan. A fight that wouldn't do anything for his legacy.

Whether he fights Stipe or Francis next it's going to be massive and he's finally doing what most thought he'd never have the balls to do. No matter how you feel about Jon you have to give him credit for moving up to fight some seriously deadly big motherfuckers now. He's never fought opponents this size with this much power.

Running away from reyes and running into ngannou is not something I can discredit jones for. I dont think he has what it takes to beat these heavy weights, In my eyes he's been visibly declining over his last 5 fights.

For all we know, Jones dropped the belt because of USADA or something. They don't tell us shit publicly anymore. It all happens behind the scenes. No one knows until the reason is actually announced. We'll find out in a few months if he's going up to HW or a year it was USADA or something else. Or if he's actually retired, we'll never hear anything.

If he can have a 5 round pitter patter like the latest DC vs Stipe fight he'll do well... His chin and evasive skills have always got him to the end of a fight, as long as he doesn't get finished he wins most 5 round fights imo.

We already saw Reyes beat Jones. I'm not a Jones fan, but I don't think Ngannou can duplicate Reyes' feat; I think Jones handles him fairly easily.
