Anyone else eating their crow with extra salt?

How are we the ones eating crow? We missed all of these matchups since 2013:

Jones versus:

prime Cain
prime Werdum
prime Barnett
prime Johnson
prime Browne
Lesnar
JDS

Lets hold on eating the poor crows...
I for one want to at least see a fight signed.
Talk is cheap...

I'm keeping the crow in the freezer for now. I'll thaw it in the refrigerator when/if Jon signs a contract for a heavyweight bout. Only on the night of the fight (should it come to pass) shall I cook the crow, salt it, and then post it on @Dead Kennedy 's inevitable "what's everybody eating etc tonight" thread.

Hahaha! :D

I am but a man.

I will always own up to when I was wrong. I said he'd never do it, and seemingly he's doing it.

you can say he didn't fight any of THOSE guys (lmao at "prime browne") but he did fight Rampage, Vitor, Gus x2, Reyes, santos, DCx2, Machida, shogun and Evans in that period of time. It's not as if he had a lack of dangerous opponents.

So It's offical. Dana says The LHW belt is up for grabs, and supposedly Jan and Reyes are fighting for it.

Is there anyone here who truly believed that Jones would one day move to heavy weight?

He's been alluding to this since 2013, and it's pretty much always been nothing but hot air. I always thought he didn't have the frame to be a good HW and also his lack of punching power is apparent. I Quite frankly, Could never see him doing good at HW. I Always assumed he thought the same thing.

I think One thing is certain, if Jones goes to HW. He is NEVER coming back to LHW. his career in that weight class is over. If he really wants success at HW, he needs to put on weight.

So, hats off to Jones. Who proved me wrong on something I so staunchly believed he would never do.

you talk as if he had fought at HW already in that last sentence
allI see so far is him ducking a reyes rematch

The fact of the matter is, Jones makes impulsive decisions that lead to compulsive behavior.

He hit a preggo woman and fled the scene
He hid under a cage for 12 hours during a drug test
He drinks and drive
He's cheated on his wife
He snorted coke before fights
He popped for peds
And now he's retired-vacated

Any of you that's sitting around holding your breath and waiting for Jones to make a sound and responsible decision will be waiting for a lifetime.

I see Jones as the kanye of mma when it comes to eccentric behavior. He has no inhibitions and worst, nobody around him that's gonna call him on his shit

You guys act like Jones at heavyweight means we will never see the reyes, santos, or blachowics matches ever now.
They can all easily just not cut weight for that payday or double champ status.

No ones eating crow. He either:
A. Sits out complaining about pay until a favorable lhw matchup appears (jan or glover) then jumps back.
B. Waits for stipe to beat ngannou again, then fights for the hw title.
Either is far less dangerous than his current options of rayes or ngannou. So hes basically pulling a conor and just kicking the can down the road till something he likes comes along.

If he fights Miocic, he'll want a huge amount of money and then probably retire.

with Ngannou looming in the HW division, getting the belt (or trying to) and then retiring seems to be a popular strategy.

I find it amusing that no one calls DC out for never even considering fighting Francis.

Ima try real hard not to be a hypocrite here. GSP had long been talking about burnout around the time his performances started to slow following his surgery. You can score the Hendricks fight against him
(i think i did watching it), but you knew that it was more likely a mental block than Hendricks being better. It was, at worst, 60-40% in Johny's favor. I would have liked his return to be him proving that he would beat Johny at 100%, but Hendricks was basically a corpse then, and a middleweight. Taking the belt from the weakest MW champ was a small consolation, but it was an effort to show he's still got it.

Jones has talked about negotiation issues, but not really burnout, to my memory. So his perfomance slowdowns line up more with finally not popping positive constantly. The Reyes fight was clear bullshit, not a coin flip. It was more 90-10% in Dom's favor. Maybe he could come back in time at full form (if he can do that and not piss hot) and beat Dom decisively or go up a weight like GSP did and i might reevaluate, but at this moment? No. No respect for Jon. This is worse than GSP's case

I think he’s taking a GSP approach. Back off for a couple of years and then cherry pick someone he can beat rather it be a LHW or HW. Comeback should get a lot of eyes, a lot of money, and hopefully reignite his motivation. Plus if he wins he cements his legacy.

Jon only started the HW talk because he juiced his tits off. As soon as he went clean that talk vanished....
When Jon keeps trying to make HW, but USADA keeps telling him no.

Jones is gonna cement himself as THE GOAT if he takes the HW title. You snowflakes can say pico blah blah blah as if your favorite fighters never had anything in their system.

Now HW is a shell of what it was even a few years ago. Not saying he wouldn't possibly have his hands full with some of them, but still...

Check the tape and you can see I used to make a thread every couple months about the biggest fight of all times.

Jones-DC 3 for The Heavyweight Title

We have to thank DC, Jones, Stipe, Brock, and Dana for all doing their part in fucking it up.
