Anyone else eating their crow with extra salt?

I'm keeping the crow in the freezer for now. I'll thaw it in the refrigerator when/if Jon signs a contract for a heavyweight bout. Only on the night of the fight (should it come to pass) shall I cook the crow, salt it, and then post it on @Dead Kennedy 's inevitable "what's everybody eating etc tonight" thread.

Like someone else mentioned in the thread you never know he might catch a quick felony and it'll never happen. Then I can continue to live in a world where I am always right.

Running away from reyes and running into ngannou is not something I can discredit jones for. I dont think he has what it takes to beat these heavy weights, In my eyes he's been visibly declining over his last 5 fights.

Yes
Source for his announcement for moving up to HW? I know he’s tweeted and what not but my impression was he was retiring because he doesn’t feel the UFC are willing to pay him enough.

After he vacated his title, Jones said that he and the promotion had “a really positive conversation” and that negotiations for his next fight will be in the heavyweight division.

White would double down on the idea of Stipe Miocic - who defeated Daniel Cormier in the main event of Saturday night’s UFC 252 event to retain his heavyweight title - will make his next title defense against Francis Ngannou. No timetable is currently in place for that fight to go down.

So It's offical. Dana says The LHW belt is up for grabs, and supposedly Jan and Reyes are fighting for it.

Is there anyone here who truly believed that Jones would one day move to heavy weight?

He's been alluding to this since 2013, and it's pretty much always been nothing but hot air. I always thought he didn't have the frame to be a good HW and also his lack of punching power is apparent. I Quite frankly, Could never see him doing good at HW. I Always assumed he thought the same thing.

I think One thing is certain, if Jones goes to HW. He is NEVER coming back to LHW. his career in that weight class is over. If he really wants success at HW, he needs to put on weight.

So, hats off to Jones. Who proved me wrong on something I so staunchly believed he would never do.

so far there nothing showing jon will be miving up. all that was said was jon needs time to handle things outside the cage.

so jon early in 2021 could still end up fighting the winning of reyes vs jan.

Yes

there been no fight bout agreement for jon at heavyweight so no there not been a fight at heavyweight yet for jon.

jon can still in the end back peddle and fight for the winner of reyes vs jan.

I suppose he can. but why vacate his title and say he wants to fight at HW otherwise?

Jon only started the HW talk because he juiced his tits off. As soon as he went clean that talk vanished....

Then he got juicing again and USADA said fuck it, 'he gets a pass.' Now he is once again willing to move up. Coincidence?

I'd keep that hat on for a bit longer...nothing has been proven just yet. All he has done is vacate (and he would have eventually been stripped anyway, if he continued to sit out).

I love Jones. He is the best fighter of his time, and I think he could have a pretty good career at HW. However, I never thought he would move to HW. Maybe for a single, "easy" fight with a clear path to victory, but nothing more. Like several other successful fighters and Goat candidates, Jones always plays it safe, and manages his matchmaking very well. He always thinks risk/reward. He didnt fight Chael on short notice etc.

However, i could still be wrong... I sometimes am.

I'm eating crow if that's what you call it. What I didn't see when I thought he never goes to HW was what is currently happening. I think the LHW division is pretty decent. You have Reyes, Jan and I want to see what Rakic does against Smith. He has the style and size that could give Jones trouble. Jiri is there and Santos (who gave Jones all he could handle) is still there as well. At HW you have an aging Stipe, Francis and guys like Lewis and Blaydes. I think Jon is slipping and to fight aging fighters and limited HW fighters might be better than fighting the guys in the most underrated division.
