Any old school EverQuest players here?

Been hitting my alt while on a work trip. Was a toss up who to play, but once I got logged in on my laptop, wasn't interested in setting up all of the macros and other windows for my bard, so that helped seal the deal on who to play.

Played with the SHM in the trio and blasted through 20-50 in a few hours. Swapped out the SHM for PAL and grinding some AA and farming a bit in old seb trying to get a Bladecatcher to soften up some big pulls.

Reading on the build for the WAR/MNK/PAL, a huge part of the build revolves around the Hopebringer procs for survivability in long boss fights. Need to research a bit on large pulls. Seems fairly straight forward for single encounters, but not sure what to focus on burning down a big group. Bladecatcher with the BST has a longer cast time with Bloodlust than the WAR Rage of Rallos Zek, and MNK AA skills are on a long cooldown to be used efficiently.

Gotta love getting paid OT to play a game, lol.

took my Shm/Nec/Dru and did my usual Kunark dragon kills (except Trak) and then Sleeper, No good augs as usual :/

They added Talisman of the Jaguar (shaman DD proc buff spell) to the drop table for a bunch of boss mobs in Ssra in the patch notes, which was nice because people were charging 30k for it. I fully cleared all of Ssra and didn't get one.. until Emp, and he dropped 2 copies of it

Took my Mnk/Rog / "Nec" to Naggy at 45 with no AA's but pretty decent gear, and absolutely steamrolled him, having a melee subclass makes a huge difference. Then leveled him up to 51 in Seb In like an hour. Flying back to AZ right now and when I get back, level up to 52 then probably focus on the Lich Cap quest so I can respec to pally and then grind some AA's.

Did Plane of Water and Wind. Both super tedious.

The Plane of Water was simple to get through, but Coirnav sucked. You aggro, a ton of little adds spawn, who are aggro. Except they don't aggro. And the three named spawned on top of each other. And each of them had more hp than the Vex Thal bosses. Finally killed them, then a ton more mobs spawned and the three named again. This time they went down super fast. Then Coirnav was targetable, and died even faster. Fight is supposed to be like 4 waves, with a few mobs and a named at once. Pretty bugged.

Plane of Air was a pita for different reasons. Have to clear pretty much the whole zone, do a couple of ring events, and then can access Xegony's area. Place was super bugged with my corpse minions. They would constantly attack things that were not there, and I would get attacked back by nothing. Xegony's three soldiers were actually tough, hit hard as hell fighting three at once. Xegony was simple enough, tons of adds, but I finally got a Tulwar, so wasn't bad.

Decided to do my dragon hunt after. 3 Kunark dragons/3 bags, all normal quality. Go and kill Sleeper, 2 faerune augs.

Not a great day.

Finally finished the demi lich skullcap quest (giant pain in the ass) switched my nec/rog/mnk to the intended pal/rog/mmk, maxed out slay undead and most of the double/triple attack AA's....

This is ridiculous, just a chain of one shots anywhere there are undead mobs, ME is pretty insane as almost everything is undead, dont even need to swarm kite just walk for 10 minutes one shotting everything, then bazaar port and spend 5 minutes selling 4k worth of vendor items, lol.

That's my plan. Just started working on a few AAs and went for Rage of Rollos Zek first for the 100% proc for Hopebringer and survivability. Just knocked that out and the Combat Fury pre-rec, so undead stuff is next.

Did PoFire today. Was surprisingly easy. Tons of enemies to get through, but the actual event was easy. I had heard the names before Fenin were tough if you can't split them. They were no, nor was Fenin. Just Plane of earth left. Won't get to try til the weekend, but its supposed to be the hardest.

Got lucky and a black flame sphere dropped from the froggy, just gotta level it up for quick cast curse cure.

Spent most of yesterday on My pal/rog/mnk, got them geared out, level 60, and 1500aa... they are a chain saw but my dru/sham/nec is still better for bosses, both can kill Sleeper easily now

Hit 65 on my sham/nec/dru, stocking up on clickies and AA grinding to push to time

Fenin Down, that is a huge pain in the ass with no stun immunity

Read over on reddit that This has officially responded back to the DBG lawsuit here:

Full document linked in the thread, but here is one of the guys takeaway:

So I read the full document.

Here's my takeaway from the request to deny an injunction:

* Daybreak has, for decades, given tacit approval to emulators

* Daybreak has failed to pursue copyright infringement actions on any emulator

* Daybreak has not shown a sense of urgency in filing for an injunction despite claiming irreparable damages.

* Daybreak fails to adequately equate the existence of THJ in particular to loss in revenue or damage to a nebulous brand reputation, etc.

* Despite being familiar with the LLC that THJ operates under, Daybreak names individuals as defendants in this lawsuit. This is typically a scare tactic.

I for one, am glad the THJ team is fighting the legal battle and not just folding. Not just because I love the game, but because DBG has acted in very bad faith towards their community.

Xegony down, that was super intense
Which part? I had no issues with her and her legion, but those three soldiers before her were rough. I think I had issues keeping them in range, so no lifetap procs

Its the only Elemental fight I never did in classic, I went in blind on my Pal/Rog/Mnk and fought her in her little "ring", afterwards I was watching some strat videos and people pull her to the edge of the island and start the fight with her debuffed since she doesn't start spawning adds til she's dealt damage apparently.

I just disc cycled during each spawn of adds and burned her down, took a few attempts but managed to pull it off.

Rathe Council is next, going to be fun, lol.

Lol that was an absolute joke. I was expectations the old fight where all had to die within a certain time of each other and having to fight all at once.

Time unlocked :D

Finally able to get some time in coming off of my work trip. Was able to play a bit on my laptop, but felt held up from the set up. Parking at 55 and grinding away on some AA. Trying to find the best mix of undead with the right mix of exp and vendor loot.

UP mob density is to thick and I'll go from a few mobs to like 20 and get overwhelmed. ME is nice, but stretches are to long. Veksar is up there, but making my way to the undead section is kind of a pain. I think I've settled in with Crypt of Decay. Can do the undead knights, go back to start of the section, pop over to the baz to sell the goods, and when I zone back, the mobs are starting to pop. Get about 10 AA per loop. Not as fast as bard swarming, but doing pretty good.
