The framework of evangelicalism is just so barren and non-liturgical. It's an individualistic conversion based model that operates on sola scriptura, biblical inerrancy, and salvation through faith alone with no emphasis placed on the Eucharist beyond mere symbolism. It is so extremely "Not Catholic" and opposed to Christian history and tradition that it's honestly difficult to even consider it part of the same religion, if you could even call it that.

I don't know much about any of that. Personally, I look back on those people with a mixture of admiration and sympathy. There was a purity to the type of folks I knew, or at least a purity to their ideals because no one is perfect. Just simple folks. As I mentioned, i do feel badly for them for a lot of reasons, the religion was and is oppressive in so many ways and I was always too questioning to just accept it. I don't personally think the bible was any word of god or divinely inspired, at least not much of it. It's hard to seperate myth from history in it and most of it made no sense to me really. Of course, I could never tell them that, they had some warped answer for everything and truth be told, I don't really think they even believed most of the stuff they taught. Yet, I still miss them, i'm a nut.

I can't think of many high profile topics recently that the left hadn't sprinkled lies into the topic from the start - often a few more after the initial lie is pointed out.

no, the christians might have come in with the front of their mellow music and all but make no mistake it's hate underneath that. Those people mix things up so well that it might be hard for an outsider to tell but they believe that god will send those gays to hell and they also believe that god loves them, that's horseshit.

You're not even dealing with your typical group of gays in that neighborhood, you're dealing with the most damaged you can find, that's their hang out. It's not like that's where all the gay doctors, lawyers and entrepeneurs spend their free time. That's for the dregs of any group that hangs there.

I'm not familiar with Seattle geography or landscape issues. Where was the 2nd option and was the 1st really not suitable.
Looks like they could have held that in the park of my old hometown.

Was just there, Tacoma as well. Nearly got into a fight with a vagrant. He asked for a couple of bucks which I politely told him that I had none and then he proceeded to berate me and ranting about war and kids and work.

tacoma doesn't even have any homeless in comparison to seattle, tacoma is a strange town. I always wonder why there are so many buildings and where the people are. Plenty of traffic though.

In Seattle, we just had a very interesting case, two norteno gang members accosted a sixteen year old burb kid (that's what it looks like anyways) the burb kid shot them and left, a 57 year old man shot the burb kid. Too early to tell how any of this is going to work out but it looks like a sho nuff mess. What if the 57 year old man shot the kid who was just defending himself but the kid shouldn't have had a gun, yup, a mess. Charles Bronson might have to do a little time here.

I've been saying, there is probably no other neighborhood where they would have had those problems so why pick that one? I think they'd have just been ignored in any other neighborhood. Most people are living their lives their not sitting around wound up about someone else's hate.
