Where does it imply that I said Bendo was dominating the fight? or that he was domiating the 5th round? I think he was edging the round and even if he would have lost slightly on points the judges would have most likely given Bendo the nod because he was champ and Pettis didn't decisively beat the champ without a significant blow or knockdown in that round and overall wouldn't have done enough to win most likely.
There is something seriously wrong with you if you viewed the 5th round before the kick as even or with Bendo in front. Bendo did NOTHING except a takedown and 30 seconds of top control while Pettis landed multiple clean strikes, rocked Bendo with a flying knee and made Bendo hit the mat just by shuffling his feet. Anyone who scores that for Bendo is exactly why we have all the judging problems we do

Don't worry he didn't actually watch the fight... hell he probably didn't even read fightmetric because if he did he would realize that Pettis outlanded Bendo 52 strikes to 5 in the final round.
I love when people backtrack and "soften" their statement.... except the "softer" statement is still absolute BS. Bendo didn't come close to dominating, edging, or remotely winning the final round. The only way you could think this is if a. you are an idiot or b. you really didn't watch the fight.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just say he's BSing off of what he's read on Sherdog and Wikipedia.
Honestly that has to be it. There is no other logical explanation to why anyone could think Ben was winning that round and yet every Pettis thread someone pops up and says the kick "stole" him the fight. I though it was pretty clearly Pettis' round and fight and given the two times he badly hurt Ben I scored the 5th a 10-8
Hell, I've even seen some people state Bendo won the round even with the kick, and subsequent ground strikes, which made them forget everything else that happened beforehand. Like the TD, 40 secs of top control, and brief back take. How could anyone ever overcome that level of devastation in the remaining 4 minutes and 20 seconds? Pettis' flying knee and body punches arguably trumped everything Bendo did in that round, combined. Let alone everything else Pettis did.
Pettis has never been out-struck, and really hasn't been in much danger. Cerrone has been out-struck by Diaz, Kelly, Varner (1st time), and Njo. He was in danger against Mel and Rob. Cerrone is getting lit up, if not finished in this fight, unless he takes it the ground, if he can, in which case he'll probably get triangled because his top game isn't nearly as good as his bottom game.
To be fair though, I don't see Cerrone getting outstruck by Pettis's recent opponents either: Guida, Roller, Castillo or Lauzon. And Cerrone beat Stephens as well. And if you want to list Cerrone's opponents, they're some pretty good strikers actually.
Guida laid on him for fifteen minutes.
Pettis is clearly the future of the division.
BTW, Guida is the 'example'? Guida has lost, recovered, improved, and, subsequently, threw himself back into title contention. And Pettis is 10x as talented. H-i-s-t-o-r-y.
Come on, man...
And showtime couldnt do anything about it
You didn't say any of that and I never claimed you did. You said Benson would probably get the decision but that whole round right before the kick was still up in the air. It was anyones fight all this talk about he was the champ and all that doesn't matter thats just something people made up in boxing and people think carries over to MMA.
Pettis won two rounds from Bendo so saying he most likely wouldn't have done anything else to take the round is silly.
So you replied to me to agree with me in argumentative form?
First off I'm not arguing this is a forum for discussing MMA. That's what we're doing here is having a discussion.
I don't agree with you cause you said Benson most likely would have won. That fight was so close from begining to end I think it's silly to say that.
