Another tipping thread. Who is wrong here?

People working in food service are entitled. I know americans say its because that is the system but believe me even if they make minimum standard wage they still expect it because some are willing to give a tip they assume its just standard. Having known some servers and deliverers personally they expect it always. They also always talk trash about customers that dont give a tip as if they have been wronged greatly.

watched the first bit didnt need to see more.

A guy paid for his food and left. thats it.

The extra tip is fucking retarded and not enforceable by law.

Said it a hundred times, fuck tipping off completely and charge more for the food to bump the wages up of the staff. If it gets to expensive to eat out, then buy food and cook yourself.
I agree with everything you said. I call it "tip entitlement" folks forget it is a reward for good service and not something that is mandatory. I think tips should be eliminated completely. Paying 12 bucks including tip for a pint or 16 oz of beer in the u.s is ridiculous charge a flat fee no arbitrary tip expectations.

"Minimum Wage" Doesn't Apply To Servers in many states.

1st - Simple 10 percent math, drop the last "bill total" number, move decimal 1 place left. That is now 1/10 of your order.

ex. $ 39.80 total, NOW 3.98 - about 4 dollars, a 20 % Tip would be 8 dollars.

Servers, if they are rude, Deserve No Tip, period.

Lol at tipping 8 bucks on that bill this is an example of how extreme tipping is getting. Also if you don't tip as a retaliatory measure the staff will remember you and mess with your food And or service next time.

Yup, meanwhile they don’t look at their boss who is actually taking advantage of them

Talk about brainwashed

Tipping is just a virtue signal by retarded people and a version of palovs dog for the restaurant staff.

We met family in Charleston last weekend and I treated to a seafood dinner. The place was rustic, no frills, on the water and delicious. We stood in line to order, found our own table and picked up our food when it was ready. We walked to the bar to order beers. The ticket included a 20% Service Fee. As I said, the food was terrific but I won't go back. A $40 service fee for self service? The entrees were reasonably priced so they could have raised them 20% without raising eyebrows, but it was just an excuse to charge an extra fee.
Pretty stupid company, just like you said, hide the 20% in your food cost

We need to change dining culture in America. Just bring the water and food. We don’t need a slave to pretend to be nice to us for tips.
It is kind of creepy that they pretend to be nice for tips.

It's part of the racket. Young attractive women get paid way more if they flirt a little. The unattractive or older people have to hover around under the guise of giving good service to get a tip. It's also the customer's fault. Americans get mad and give poor reviews if the wait staff isn't serving them like a King.

That job may be a server's only LEGAL way of support.

Waitering in NC, USA (years ago) had min wage at about $7 per hour. Servers, male and/or female was 2.01 per hour. Earning 10 hours on my check was $20.10 Before Taxes.

Employees that Never dealt with Any Customers earned almost 4 times what we did, legally.

Sit down service I'm always a 20%er because 18% is extra maths. But getting an ipad shoved in your face for a coffee that you're taking away in a plastic cup is barmy.
Waba grill is the worst it is a pick up counter like McDonald's they have no waiters or dishwashers because of disposable dishes and dinnerware yet they turn the ipad around for 18-30% tip you even have to fill up your own soda. I only eat at waba grill because it is conveniently located.

If everyone is against tipping, why haven't restaurants started pricing menu items appropriately and advertising NO tipping?

Someone must be pro tipping.....
People are brainwashed in the u.s to tip as a virtue signal for good service it is a dumb culture we have here from the boomers generation. an entire generation would have to resist tipping in the u.s like gen alpha. A lot of people are anti tip but only tip because society shames you if you don't or the staff messes with your food in the future.

I went on carnival to someplace in Mexico. I don't even recall the name.

It was my first cruise and we got a good price. But I guess you get what you pay for.
Cruise ships are ghetto AF now it is like spirit airlines on a boat we have a cruise terminal around here

Threads about tipping and Sherdog go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly.

I usually round up and do 20% of that if I have cash on me, cause I think they get taxed on it if you tip on the card.

Yeah, I really don't like coffee shops or subway or drive-thrus or takeout asking for tips. That should fall on the establishment to pay them since that is what the establishment is and is not an additional service, but someone bringing my stuff, filling my drink, clearing the table etc seems like it's worth some more money, otherwise nobody would want to take any bigger groups.

I found everybody in the video annoying but I doubt the only annoying thing the person filming did was not tip.

I can only speak for myself. I always go home after I visit businesses.

The food is going directly from the oven to my mouth. I see no reason to pay any amount that's more than $0.00.

I do all the work at home and I wash all the dishes at home. I refuse to pay any amount of money.

I already paid for the food and drinks. That's enough (in my opinion).

I don't mind tipping waiters or waitresses. I know they throw some to the busboys/runners if it's that type of place.

I'm not generally going to tip at coffee places. They've run those prices so fucking high already, they can afford to pay their employees.

Might be different if I ordered some half-caf three splashes of soy milk blah blah.... But that'll never happen.
