another shooting at ft hood.

The school teacher doesn't own his/her text books either. They are employer issued.
The Mechanic who works for a chain, doesn't buy his own wrench. Wrenches are employer issued.

So again, why are these occupants always with their employer issued tools, and the soldiers aren't?

In their day to day work on a military base how does a soldier need his gun?

What he does he use it for when walking around the base?

If its for shooting practise I am confindent they are allowed guns at the range.

Every Soldier being armed doesn't even fucking make sense. What, they all carry their M4 around for 8 hours a day and then turn it in to the arms room at 1700? What, every Soldier carries, regardless of MOS, considering the vast majority are the "soft" MOSs, and considering then only your PMO MPs are trained for active shooter scenarios? I shudder to think of every clueless Joe rocking a rifle or 9mil in case some shit goes down. Gonna catch a cap in my ass by some fuckin crypto analyst who fires at the range twice a year if he's lucky. Fuck outta here.

If they can get a concealed carry permit or the state allows open carry why can't they carry on base.

Bob someday could you please not spout off about shit that you are so fucking uninformed on.

Plenty can be done with out having to be conducting target practice

Do you know what a soldier does when they're at work on base? It doesn't involve shooting bad guys all day every day.

He has bought into being scared of guns by political officers

And yet at least ten to fifteen percent it does

We dont carry on base so its clear who the shooter is. not like there is a good way to tell people apart by appearence when they are in uniform. " he is in camo with a gun" is a pretty shit description if everyone has a gun and wears camo.

Kind of makes sense.

Its unfortunate you found the questions you avoided answering uncomfortable, but I don't know the answers to them so I am asking them.

Have a read back on what I said through this thread, its me giving my opinion stated as my opinion and asking questions?

Me spouting off about shit I don't know??? you are pretty wide of the mark there, have I stated anything as fact have I mislead people?

I quoted a post, that is specific bob, you think that guns are just needed for target practice. That is naive and idiotic, much like anything that you bring up about America and firearms.

What? No. I don't trust my fellow Joes to be able to react correctly in a active shooter scenario. Can you honestly say otherwise?

Can you see where you went wrong? I bolded it for you.

And yes I do think that to a degree, and you are suggesting otheriwse which is why I asked the fucking question!!!

In my head the most likely answer to "why they need guns on base" is for target practise, and I also said I am confident they are allowed there. I am presuming there are other reasons (besides the exceptionally obvious one I mentioned) so I asked a question what are they?

Had I said "there is no other reason" well then your little hissy fit would be understandable.
But instead of spouting off about shit I don't know, I asked a question, you know those things that help you gain knowledge and a better understanding of why another person feels the way they do.

What would you have me do, just accept this as fact? Personally I don't like things I don't understand so I try to understand them, a common tool I use for that is asking other people questions.

So yeah, question still stands.

"In their day to day work on a military base how does a soldier need his gun?"

So how would you tell the difference between the shooter and other armed uniformed people?

If it was a smaller base it would be easy. Otherwise yea you really cant in the chaos if they were in uniform. MAs would have to treat anyone they came up on with a gun as a shooter, greatly slowing them down.

I can sorry yours suck, try training and empowering them

I've got an idea, instead of blaming Bush and Obama or Clinton, why don't we blame the shooter?
