Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, etc. aren't allowed to carry firearms when they're at base.

MP's (Military Police) are usually the only ones allowed to carry (sometimes they only have pepper-spray or a baton), and if they are allowed to carry, it's a handgun.

Well it's certainly possible he was still a Muslim, but I wouldn't say it's likely, hence why I said "sounds" like it wasn't an Islamist extremist. So I'm not sure why your panties are all bunched up and you're giving me the dreaded eye roll.
