Nobody is going to beat Jon Jones without a massive power and striking advantage while having an equal grappling skillset. That does not describe Ankalaev by any stretch.

AspirinTylenol has the size, the speed, good striking (Jones' hasn't looked great recently/in the last 7 years, except against Stipe, who Father Time tkod before that fight even started), and I'd be very curious to see how Jones wrestles an actually good HW grappler. Honestly a terrible match up for Ank.. honestly is levels better grappling n has like foot reach advantage , taller , much better kicks. Anks only edge would be hand striking . Only way Ank beats Hones is Jones is just aged out n inactive .

Both Reyes and Gus relied on good boxing and TDD. Ank I think would be an interesting matchup for post-prime Jones. Won't happen though since Jones isn't cutting back down to LHW.

I don't think Jones will ever go back to LHW again, he probably is physically able to if he was motivated, but his legacy there is basically sealed. At HW it would be interesting because Jones has mileage but will have the HW size more than Ank, maybe be a grappler and be able to control him. In his prime, Jones would eat him up to a decision or finish, but right now it would be a very technical fight.

He's insanely competitive to a degree that I don't even think I even half understand. He's in it to win it and gives no fucks about anything but.

And drug testing sucks. We should allow jones all the roids and coke he wants just to see him in his full glory Shogun smash everyone. He's a rare talent and the only people punished for him being such a lunatic is us.
