Media Ankalaev says he already accepted a rematch and has a date

I think you’re gonna be let down. I don’t think you’re gonna see in the rematch. Gonna be a decision.
That’s my gut feeling as well, but a man has got to hope.

It will be hard to beat Peirera twice. He will come more prepared, rematch are always hard on paper, your opponent has an opportunity to learn from past mistakes and adjusts to overcome you;

You will need to be one step ahead of his one step ahead without overthinking the game.

Peirera needs a good camps with a bunch of southpaws. Anklaev appears to be a right handed southpaw.
He was too passive and on the back foot, he should had taken more risks.

It will be interesting.

Bad move for Poatan unless he’s just looking to cash a check and waste one of the last fights of his competitive career.

He’s 38 next month people, not some young buck looking to get the belt back. Think about that.

Listen brother, it’s all good to celebrate the win and Ankalaevs accomplishment in becoming champion. He and his fans waited a very long time and it’s well deserved.

However, it’s different when his fans are rubbing it in and gloating like he completely laid out some Jones/Shogun like beating. And calling him Alex’s daddy like he owns him. Like I said, he barely won that fight and squeaked out a close decision. That fight could have gone the other way if a few sequences and strikes land for Alex in the deciding round.

It’s certainly worth celebrating and being happy. But nothing to gloat about. They’re gonna fight again and we both know that result can be very different.
I can agree that some fans are just trolling and shit.

But nothing to gloat about??

Fuck that son.

Owlsquad pecking eyes, takin names, winnin championships, fuckin bitches w no rubbers

Big Ank not only murked Alex, took his title, and then humiliated him in the post-fight press conference. He now wants a rematch so that he can do it again.

Alex better accept. Or rather than just being known as Ank's son, he'll be known as Ank's duck son.
This shit is just stupid. Ank is a champ. Alex is too.

Ank has a style to beat Alex. But he couldn't beat Jan. He lost to Paul Craig.

So what though. He's still a champ. And Alex is still awesome too.

I mean, maybe he tried to act like it. He certainly hugged him like a daddy.

Keep celebrating and enjoying that performance. You better hope Alex shows up soft again. Cause if Alex just pushes a tad more…..that’s belts coming back to Brazil.

How about we chat after the rematch. Leave it at that.
so, you do think that Alex lost because he didn't want to win that fight. Alex could push a tad more but he willingly didn't.
is that really what you are saying ?

I don't like it.

First it makes it you have to beat Alex 2x to become champ, which is always bullshit.

2nd, if Alex loses it kills his career for the most part.
Let him knock someone else out and maybe take another shot then coming off a WIN or not who cares but don't give the most marketable guy in the company quite likely back to back losses. That's dumb

LHW (or HW bottom ish of the rankigs) has plenty of assholes he could KO and give the fans a highlight and give Alex a tune up. Maybe (however unlikely) someone else dethrones Ank, or he gets hurt and you get an interim to build Alex back and hype a champ vs champ unification not too far down the line.

The first fight was decisive. This sucks.

It is kind of fun to see his glazers pipe down a bit on social media.

They acted like he's one of the GOATs despite the fact nobody has ever been fast tracked with favorable matchups like him, but if anybody mentions that they get called a hater among other things lol

Ank bless
Chandler fought for the title in his 2nd ufc fight.
Jiri fought for the belt in his 3rd UFC fight.

Outside champs usually have the OPTION to test the deep waters and sink or swim.

Gaethje fought #5 Michael Johnson in his UFC debut if he would have beaten Eddie he likely would have had a title shot then.

Alex fought 3x prior to the title shot, taking out #4 to get a shot at a champ he beat twice already who had cleaned out the division already and needed fresh contenders.

Nothing to see here. Standard operation.
They dropped him in deep water, as they often do with outside champs and he swam. No different than Jiri.

The most comparable to Pereira's fast track with favorable matchups avoiding all the guys who have decent wrestling would be Gane. Jiri's was pretty ridiculous only having to beat Reyes and Volkan, true, but LHW was and is absolute trash, so there were no other good matchups.

Even though Chandler only had to beat Hooker, Hooker is pretty well rounded and the betting favorite for the fight. Chandler's fast track was ridiculous though.

Come on brother, you do know they had grapplers at 185 and they matched up Pereira with Strickland, I like Pereira too and this treatment is not his fault, but it's impossible to deny. There were folks like Brunson, Vettori, Hermansson, other fighters on the rise like Muniz, Fluffy, Dolidze, Allen... could Pereira have beaten all of them? Quite possibly, I don't want to deny that. But they matched him up with Strickland, who they were practically sure he could beat.

So Hooker who has never sniffed the title or cracked the top 5 is "pretty well rounded " and thus a legit contender fight

But Sean Strickland who was ranked #4 and won the title in a dominant performance within a year of his fight with Alex was easy picking favoritism

Ok <JennieThumbsUp>

True
<mma4>

I'll allow Pereira, Gane AND Chandler to all be mentioned.

Smart move as it’s definitely the biggest fight for him atm.
