I've never watched or read Beserk. Guess I'll give it a shot... or start watching Fairy Tale.

Wait, WTF? They made her white?!?! That's dumb as shit. On a related question, anybody know for sure what Casca's ethnicity is supposed to be? I reread the series recently and don't remember it being mentioned, but I always assumed it was whatever the manga equivalent is of the Moors. Also Casca is white now.
Read it, definitely the superior method. Despite being one of the most important mangas around it's anime adaptions have varied between mediocre and terrible.I've never watched or read Beserk. Guess I'll give it a shot... or start watching Fairy Tale.
ost and voice acting seems alright, rest is just horrendous.
Also Casca is white now.
Read the manga or the original anime.

.
Do you fellas know of any animes that are like Ore Monogatari? Idk, something just very sweet and cheerful and kinda funny?
Gonna check out Akagami no Shirayukihime and Himouto! Umaru-chan soon, hoping theyll be cute n fun x:
I'm not so sure. Kushan people usually get a very strong reaction from other characters when they see them in a way that Casca never seems to evoke. Also, the shape of her eyes is totally different from named Kushan characters (Jarif, Silat, Ganishka).always thought she's originally from Kushan, which would be the equivalent of south asia.

JBS, you ever read the GOAT manga, Brawling Go?
Yup:I'm like 75% he did a review of it in his last batch, he gave it a C or D.

Hmm, haven't read DAYS. MHA is definitely better than the other two nominees for Shounen.
EDIT: Just read the first two chapters of DAYS and it's terrible.
EDIT2: Gave up after the fourth chapter. Really really bad stuff. Dunno what the award criteria are supposed to be but this crap shouldn't be winning anything, ever.
For DAYS, it was a combination of being massively cliched and all this unearned melodrama. The kid is getting bullied, the mother's in a wheelchair and they have this whole extended conversation that's so forced, the kid's just a huge twerp, but oh wait he's going to try so hard and put effort into something and he's making new friends with the cool kid and everybody's going to acknowledge what a hard worker he is and maybe he'll be able to ask out his cute childhood friend/neighbor who he obviously has a massive boner for and this will turn around his whole school experience so it'll be all so great and *BARF*What in specific made it terrible, I mean other than the seemingly clichéd premise of the whole fucking thing. Again, this comes back to my whole thing if this is a Publishing House Award(as in only Kodansha works are eligible) or if it's open to works of other publishers, but hosted by Kodansha(which in turn makes it INCREDIBLY iffy to me). And I agree with Heavyarms that Toriko needs more love. Thoughts on the General Award nominees and winner? The Tezuka Award I have no complaints since though I'm unfamiliar with most and only know Chihayafuru and have only read Golden Kamuy and Yotsuba&!, I can't see any specific faults with any of the works winning. This is depending on the criteria for winning or course, but even then.
