Do or die at this point, a strong opponent would force him to take that step. There's doubt though, and that's the last thing he needs at the world stage.

This. I don't keep up with the manga at all, but it's time to cut the bullshit and give him a test. And for the author side of things, it's also time to finally start going somewhere with his character growth. Again, I don't keep up with the manga, but isn't his character damn near stagnant? His whole relationship with Kumi has been stagnating for how long now?
He had the strong opponent in Gonzalez. That fight had him stumble hard. His next fight should be a showcase, to see where he's at. If he struggles, then the loss to Gonzalez affected his psyche worse than we thought. If he blows him out the water, maybe it will light the fire that he needs the world stage to be tested.Do or die at this point, a strong opponent would force him to take that step.
Who's this Itagaki? Is that the chump that got his face turned to mush by Imai...I'll never understand adding itagaki to the main cast. there's already 4 fighters that you have to flesh out opponents for/showing the fight (how ever brief) just don't feel he hands really anything to the mix besides being this natural genius speedster type...fuck itagaki
Did you know they did a spinoff of Erased? It's about how the others lived theirs lifes during his 15 year coma.Japanese Comic Ranking, March 28-April 3

Pleased does not even begin to cover my feeling regarding the #1.
Edit: K1ng, read Love is Hard for Otaku and Golden Kamuy.

He needs to give in already and just make it about Takamura instead of Ippo and the misfit brigade. How many times can we be expected to care that Aoki and the other dude are considering retirement?
Takamura >>>>>>>>>> the rest of the cast.
I do not know what it is about Toriko, but it just entertains me to no end.
Typically when a manga hits this level of absurd power, I just kind of grit my teeth and go through it (I am looking at you Naruto), but Toriko keeps me going, I think it is because it is just so ridiculous and does not take itself seriously at all.
ITS BERSERK EVEN IF WASNT GREAT ITS STILL PRETTY GOODanyone watched it yet?
True. There is no whiny bullshit involved or anything. Just weird powers and events, and weirder people to back them up.I agree. I just wished George set the pace better 1000+ chapters and Ippo is still the same. Develop him and Kumi or something. Aoki and Kimura are always the comedy relief. Itagaki is just terrible.
It also has great world building and narrative. Most chapters flesh out new concepts. Characters are easy to like and powers are cool.

I could only watch the first 5 minutes. Terrible.
I always throw up a little whenever I see Terra Formars in the top 10.Japanese Comic Ranking, March 28-April 3

What in specific made it so?
Unnatural 3d animation. Quality is all over the place. They skipped most of the blackswordsman arc and lost children arc. Basically skipped over major battles and plot and character growth with Guts.
