Anime and Manga v37

What order do you recommend I watch Gintama? Thanks!

From the beginning. Start from season 1 and follow it through chronologically.

So that's Gintama, Gitama 2015, Gintama 2017? Should I also include the specials/movies as well? Thanks!

I just saw that Ballroom e Youkoso is back! Nearly a year on hiatus, and apparently its going to be getting an anime. Which I'll totally be skipping. I may really enjoy the manga but there's no way animation will be able to capture the art. It either won't have the budget necessary or it will just be hammy and overwrought.

I hate it when I see a series based off one page...then it turns out to be utter crap except for that one page..that's what I get for going to "one page" recommendation threads though.

That Ballroom manga has some excellent art in it. might just have to read it based on that.

God damnit, Jojo's bizarre adventure got "Walk like an Egyptian" stuck in my head.

Anybody read BugCat-Capoo? It's a really weird little surrealistic text-less comedy. I find it to be surprisingly funny and cute.

Never heard of it until now, seems like one of those read to smile type of deals, my favorites

So I've watched about 18 episodes of Gintama so far. Should I expect stronger storylines? Do the action scenes get more intense? Are there actual arcs? I know it's still early and characters are being built, but just wondering what to expect and if it's worth committing to.

It's very episodic. The longer arcs can get surprisingly emotional, so enjoy the foundation building at it happens.

It's actually very impressive the type of tonal range the show takes. It sucks you in when it does it too. Just remember that it is a comedy/parody series at heart, but there is a bit of depth. Just hang in there, I think you'll appreciate it.

@Da_Rev_Ong Thanks! I'll keep at it. Are there more intense fighting scenes though? I feel like so far any battle scene ends in a few seconds. I'm use to watching shows like FMA, HxH, 7DS, DBS/DBZ, OPM, ect. Battle scenes are a probably the main reason why I like watching shounen based animes.

the fighting does get more intense when comes to the arc like episodes some of the fights get really bloody

Currently watching Hitman Reborn. Big fan of the title character. I just love how that little prick keeps trolling and fucking with everyone.

I loathe shounen and its vapid humor, but somehow Reborn hits the spot with me. The serious arcs are pretty cool, but it's the filler-ey non serious episodes that make this show special. Love the sitcom vibes.

10/10.
