Anderson Silva's Most Impressive Victory?

Rick Franklin was no joke back when Anderson beat him the first time. He was a dominant champion, and would have been champion a while longer.

His rematch, franklin was no joke either.

I agree, those wins and Rich in general gets overlooked too much.

i wouldn't say he dominated dan, he got handled in the first round from the get go, then in the second caught dan and tapped him when he was rocked.

Handled? Dan took him down then held on for dear life, Lutter did way better.

What has Franklin done since? He was alright back then..nothing great and hasn't done squat since.

Lets be honest. Franklin got robbed against Hendo.

Other than that his wins over Okami, Wanderlei and Chuck were all good.

Chael I. That fight was incredible. Anderson knows how to beat the white man.

When he crushed fails soul and the souls of thousands of band wagoners across the globe for the upteenth time! He also made me five bucks which I kindly refused to take from the guy in tears next to me( he wasn't really crying, but he was on the inside) in this fight Anderson proved that no matter what he does or who he beats his haters will always dismiss his talents! War spider!!

the kuruda style lives on!!

I think a fight between Rich and Chael would have been interesting to see. I'd also settle for watching Rich vs Bisping.

He has finished Lutter, Hamill and Chuck. Decision'd Wand twice.

Lost to Hendo, Vitor, Forrest and Le.

Pretty respectable if you ask me.

I picked Vitor because of the way he took him out nobody has done that to Vitor. Hendo and forrest are close too imo but i know people who take xanex and that def Could have affected his performance and Hendo was doing good but he looked like he gassed in the second round

I'm surprised more people aren't picking Sonnen II.

Sonnen dominated him the first time round, but he failed repeatedly to take him down in the second and Silva just straight murdered him on the feet

I voted for Franklin I or II.

It seems less impressive in retrospect, but at the time Rich was at the top. Everyone knew Silva was good, but people really didn't grasp just how large the disparity in skill actually was. He absolutely destroyed Franklin, one of the best fighters the UFC had ever seen, in a display of domination that had extremely rarely been seen at that point. It was shocking to see a guy enter the UFC, and completely trash a champion in only his second fight in the organization.

My second vote would be Sonnen I. Most men would have been psychologically defeated, completely crushed when that 5th round came about. But Silva was wise and crafty enough to keep just something in reserve, and was smart and calm enough to throw his last ditch attempt at precisely the right time. Sonnen was open for a triangle for a long time; but if he'd thrown the sub at the wrong moment and Sonnen defended, then he would have lost the element of surprise. Instead he waited patiently until almost the very end of the fight, and pulled out a preposterous victory. That is what champs are made of.

Henderson was a great win, but I feel it is more impressive in retrospect. Henderson has done well since then, brutally KOing Bisping and grinding out a horrific decision against Shogun. On paper Henderson was a bad match-up for Silva, but in reality it didn't happen that way. I don't think a rematch would go any better, I think its just a bad match-up for Dan's style.

The win against Forrest was impressive, but Forrest is a very sloppy striker, and so isn't that impressive for me.

Franklin, then Hendo. Franlkin was a monster back then, only losing to Machida prior to that fight. Hendo is the definition of what can beat Anderson, but he got tooled. Just a testament to how good Anderson really is

Hendo but don't forget Lutter he was mounted and came back to win, I always wonder what an in shape Lutter could have done.

Has to be the Forrest fight. I've never seen anything like that. The way Silva dodged those punches looked like something from a movie.

People picking Hendo don't watch fights. People picking Sonnen I are Silva nuthuggers. Sorry to ruffle your feathers.

Typical douchebag post - some condemning remarks without even bothering to give any real opinions of his won. Sorry, but I don't believe that is enough to ruffle anyone's feathers.
