Anderson Silva's Most Impressive Victory?

People picking Hendo don't watch fights. People picking Sonnen I are Silva nuthuggers. Sorry to ruffle your feathers.

Hendo didn't do fucking shit to Silva in that first round. He held him down and threw some strikes, got into side control, then Silva immediately scrambled and got back into guard. Then the round ended.

Then Hendo got starched like no other.
Don't say it's his cardio either, he trained up in altitude in Big Bear for the fight.

What?

Finishing Hendo is a big fucking deal.

Pulling a major comeback sub at the end of a fight where you're a couple minutes away from losing, while injured, is also a big deal.

I have no idea what you're saying.

Beating Hendo made it possible to market Anderson into the product he is today.

Jeremy Horn was the most impressive performance of his career imo.

So his most impressive win he lost the first round? I mean come on. He dominated a former champ, he destroyed Rich when Rich was on top. There are much better fights.

No excuses for Hendo...

Anderson took his back, beat the crap out of him, and finished him...It was the single most impressive thing he's ever done in his career because that was just about the very last thing anyone expected to happen.

He unified titles and became one of three men to stop Henderson (he's faced a murderer's row of opponents) man. Yeah he lost the round but not emphatically. If he was rocked by Hendo or if it was a 10-8 then I would agree. I can see where you are coming from.

I don't know. He dropped Hendo and choked him. I guess it is more "who" than "how". To me, he has much more impressive wins. But it is a subjective poll. I just don't see how people think Hendo was his most impressive in terms of performance.

How so? This "Dan was the first guy to win a round against Silva in the UFC" thing taints peoples memory. Yes Dan won the round. But what did he do? Never got dominant position and was landing shots less powerful than the ones Roy finished Kimbo with.

Silva came out he next round and took Dan out, straight up lit him up on the feet then tapped him out. I don't know about you but to do that to Hendo was impressive. Especially since Hendo just fought Rampage and did well for 5 rounds.

It was an impressive win. Dan did get to side control, but he didn't do much. Dan has never been very impressive at MW anyway. I just think in terms of performance he has much better wins.

He never dropped him, but he certainly took advantage of a horrible TD atempt by Hendo. He just got on top, took his back and really took it too him. It was shocking.

Sure there are performances where he's looked more aesthetically pleasing, but most of it was expected. This certainly wasn't and really solidified his position in the sport.

In terms of overall performance I am one who thinks it was against Horn.

Forest.

Okay... he was tailor made for Anderson... but he is also a former champ in a higher weight class who has beaten two other champs and probable hall of famers from that higher weight class in Shogun and Page, and Anderson literally beat him as easily as I would defeat my eight year old nephew. Literally.

I'm going with Vitor, he took out a dangerous striker in the first with a kick no one saw coming, that kick went on to be used by many fighters.

Yeah I guess Hendo fight is fair. The Horn fight was impressive as hell. He looked great. That was the first time he looked like modern day Anderson IMO.

I think the Forrest fight was more "Impressive" but Dan is a better opponent and it was still impressive. that's why its my choice!

To each their own, Silva has some great wins.

It will forever be the decimation of Forrest.

Forrest.

Higher weight class ex champ and completely made him look less than a sparring partner.

Rick Franklin was no joke back when Anderson beat him the first time. He was a dominant champion, and would have been champion a while longer.

His rematch, franklin was no joke either.
