Media Anderson Silva says Khamzat is a beast but he thinks Alex would win

A fellow Brazilian striker.... a no bias at all.

Khamzat gets it done in one.

Alex hasn't been in the cage with anyone that has great takedowns and Khamzat is at the top of the list for takedown ability as well as ground control. Alex definitely has improved his TDD and ground game since his "kickboxers in a grappling match" portion of his first MMA with Izzy.

On the other hand, Khamzat hasn't been in the cage with anyone significantly bigger than him or anyone that has elite KO power and Alex has/is both. Khamzat has at least shown he has a solid chin though he probably goes down like 99% of fighters if Alex lands clean.

My mind tells me that Khamzat does manage to get takedowns against Alex though they probably won't come easy. Alex isn't going to survive extend grappling exchanges like DDP did either so I'm thinking a submission would materialize before the end of round 3.

Of course this could all go out the window if Alex proves to be a brick wall when Khamzat shoots for takedowns.

Poatan would end Khamzat from the first shots that land, he's too big for him. You got a 25/30lb difference here. Same size, would different story and different fight. But Alex is too big here. Alex would handle him like a big brother handing his kid brother.

Size + power + IQ

Alex murders Khamzat within 2 or 3 rounds most.

I feel Khamzat would most likely dry hump Alex. Alex landed one shot, Khamzat would cry.

Anderson could be asked who would win Khamzat or Diego Brandao and Anderson would say Diego will win.

yes i for one would put my money on the guy flirting with a heavyweight move up vs the guy moved up from welterweight.

A Brazilian thinking another Brazilian (who is also a friend of his) will win a fight versus someone who isn't Brazilian? Holy shit!

Khamzat has already shown a lot of weaknesses in his game. He likes to brute force his way through dudes but that gets more difficult as he goes up against heavier dudes. Of course round 1 Khamzat can take anyone down but it's always round 2 onwards where he starts to fade quickly.

I think it's a very intriguing matchup.

Pereira helped Anderson for his fight against Adesanya, and cornered him too.

That's awesome thank you for posting that

He just literally went 25 min and didnt fade within first 10 minutes lol
Great fight that should happen while both are still active

I think Poatan could eventually time a knee or uppercut on one of Chimaev’s shots. Maybe after a rough start with the grappling of course.

It's kinda interesting that even 50 year old Silva would quite possibly beat Khamzat if they were to have a boxing match today. But he would stand zero chance in an MMA fight or any grappling based art.

Just thinking out loud. An interesting thing about the dynamics and differences between combat sports.
