I don't know you're probably right but I voted for Trump and wanted him to do good things with DACA and tackle the rest of illegal immigration issue. Just actually doing something is a step instead of calling for "immigration reform" I think his voting base that are upset about this will forgive him and still will vote for him over anyone else. Some may not show to the polls but what is a big deal this week is almost forgot next week. If he does get the wall going I am sure they will say he made a deal because he is the best deal maker ever lol..... The ones that won't forgive him are the hardcore alt-right racist but who the hell wants their support ..

Even if Trump passes DACA, the Democrats and liberals will never support him or give him a pass. Because at the end of the day, Trump is perceived to be staunchly anti Liberal and is a Republican.

You can't speak for all Trump voters. And when the alternative position is to let everyone stay, including the murderers and rapists, even the extremists may still feel incentivized to continue voting for him (except perhaps Ann Coulter).

Don't forget that Trump was Democrat for most of his life, and many didn't consider him a true Republican during the campaign and was kind of hijacking the party, so for him to have bipartisan views was not unexpected nor was the fact that he was open-minded and welcomed changing his position on things.

I am not speaking for any Trump voter, I am just pointing out what made Trump so attractive to the conservative grassroots and what got Trump the GOP nomination. By and large, his blunt tough stance on illegal immigration was crucial to his election.

A wall is NOT the absolute solution but it a necessary thing in defense per depth per say in dealing with border crossers. I don't want to derail the thread but we lock are doors, windows and gates. If a robber really wants to get in he will but the deterrents will loser the risk overall of that happening. It won't stop all crossers obviously and will it worth the money? not in the short run but the long run I think so.

I get that but at sometime you have to tackle the floodgates being open. Not doing anything and talking about it for how long obviously does not work ! The more that come the more US spends a year on them. So what would you do, going after company's and E-verify is a part of the defense in depth layers. I predict the Republicans will keep the House in 2018 if and only if they give the base the immigration plan as promised. That's how you turn the masses out---by giving them what they demanded. This is the #1 issue on the agenda of the Republican base, especially since they fucked up ACA reform.

As an aside, the Democrats are the Party with the bigger turnout problems when they hold the majority than the Republicans do. Their base consists of a lot of flaky young people and stoned hippie types who can, for example, get swooped up with enthusiasm for a half-black speechgiver and then let their party go to ruin in the House/Senate two years later.
