I think legally they are on equal footing.

Religiously then its up to the particular religion, here in Mexico a religious wedding has no legal value, the only marriage with legal value is in front of a judge.

Also, I don't recall him promising to strictly end DACA: no questions asked. I recall him promising to build a wall. Making compromises is how you get what you want.

The leaked plan has him offering amnesty to about four million illegal immigrants. That's more a giveaway than a compromise. Large portions of his base will abandon him if he goes that direction.
