Am I crazy to think that Sean will make quick work of Merab?

Sean has a lot to learn in order to keep the fight standing where things are in his favor. He is young and has time to turn it around. However, Merab gave him a proper dry humping lesson tonight. Cardio for days and the threat of the takedown completely nullified Sean’s striking. Sean never gets the title again.

My respect for you just went up ten notches. {<redford} 99% of Sherbros would never be able to do this.

Cheers, sherbro, Fight was kinda boring and my favorite lost but waiting, watching it and going through the aftermath (even if it is getting blasted on Sherdog for my wrong picks lmao) is still fun. Part of the sport I love to bits.

Merab has has 22 fights and zero KO/TKO losses, I don't think you understand what chinny means.

Maybe it was the wrong verbiage, but I stand by that Merab gets stung too often for my liking on the feet. I just assumed a real one shot KO guy like O'Malley would be able to catch him and capitalise on it. He almost did with the body shots at the end of the round, although for some reason he just didn't jump on him

Great win by Merab though, if he gets through Umar I don't see anyone stopping him unless he moves up

OMalley isn't a one shot KO guy. Not at the top level

1 KO of Aljo doesn't change that

He hits quite hard for a bantamweight tho. I didn't think he'd OHKO Merab but I thought he'd hurt him early, make Merab hesitant and them finish him with volume.
Opposite happened. That one takedown and grappling sequence fucked Sean up and Merab took over.

Ah ok, can't argue with that

Not how it played out, but a reasonable take pre fight

The closer this fight gets, the more I think that Sean will find a quick knock out. I picked Sterling to win against Sean and was proven wrong as I thought one take down from Aljo and it was game over. O'Malley avoided that but with Merab, even if he gets taken down, it's not game over. He will get up, everyone gets up against Merab and while he chains takedowns really well, I feel that's hard to do against a striker who moves like O'Malley.
Every opponent that Merab wrestle fucked stood in front of him. Cejudo moved around in the first round and gave him problems but as soon as he stopped doing that, Merab overpowered him. I don't think Sean will stop his movement and we've seen Merab hurt before and O'Malley is the hardest hitter in the division likely.
Am I crazy?
Yeah you crazy
Sean will never beat Merab, never
He may as well move up to featherweight now

I know it's one fight, and Sean is still young but I never saw him as some dominant champion. He has a ton of holes in his game and maximized his physical attributes to beat smaller fighters. But his weaknesses are still very apparent.

Merab is kind of a one trick pony too bit his trick is overwhelming. Guys like Umar and others who have more well rounded skill sets would make easy work of Sean.
