Take out anybody busted for peds and what remains is GSP, Aldo, Cruz, and DJ.

Nobody has surpassed their accomplishments.

Today I am a firm believer GSP is the overall GOAT.

But if Jones beats Gane, a dangerous, very relevant HW title challenger, it puts him on the same level as Anderson (who finished a former champ in Forrest) in terms of the weight class above. Beating Stipe would give him a win over the most titled fighter at HW in the UFC. Considering, he also has more LHW defenses than the rest of the GOAT contenders, Jones at that point could proclaim himself as the GOAT and leave the game to avoid tarnishing his legacy but staying too long.

Yes PEDs are a question mark but GSP had his own - real losses (especially by Serra), vaseline and not passing a visual test. Also, if PEDs made everyone a monster we would have had way more GOAT candidates.

Everyone will have their personal choice for who the GOAT is. But anyone trying to 'disqualify' GSP for losing to Matt Serra, Jones & Anderson for PEDs, or Fedor for fighting 'cans' is just wasting their breath. These are the top 4 and each one has a sizeable fanbase calling them the GOAT.

Hughes after 2006 was sort of washed so not that much of an accomplishment. But GSP still got finished by Serra and Hughes. Only in some imaginations does it not count if you get finished in a fight on your claim to GOAT status.

Zero. Bones,Fedor,Khabib. Are all ahead of him . Hes top 5 and that's pretty great but Bones has the greatest resume in MMA . GSP has some big wins but his resume is not near Bones or Fedor level. And he didn't have the aura of invincibility that Khabib had.
