Still got GSP over Jones. Better quality wins in their prime but it's 1a and 1b. I think it turns out Gane can't grapple to save his life, never fought someone with decent grappling his entire career, probably very overrated honestly. We will see when Gane fights a guy like Spivak, Aspinal, Blaydes in the future if it's just a glaring hole.

Bisping could never grapple either. Gane is actually a great striker though as opposed to Bisping.

I think this fight was exposing Ganes grappling more than saying anything about Jones. Just the way it went down to me, wasn't a particularly impressive performance. Jones vs Stipe also means very little to me, if he beats the winner of Blaydes vs Pav I'd no longer argue it.

GSP should show Jones how to properly dispatch a striker with no grappling skill.

I was impressed at Jones’ pressure from the start. He was really walking Gane down. I’ll definitely need to see more to know where he’s at though

Well what Jones said was spot on and I've noted it too for a couple years now but fans are stupid and don't understand you can extrapolate negatives even from victories. Gane is pretty bar inside of kicking distance when pressured and relies on footwork, doesn't have good head movement. Looked like Jones didn't give up a speed or length advantage and knee to pressure and force exchanges rather than letting him have space. I wouldn't have been surprised if he outstruck Gane, Jones is amazing.

I'd like to see him fight Stipe. Gane was just too incomplete and i knew Jones wrestling would win him the match. Stipe at least has a wrestling career. But Jon Jones is the greatest UFC fighter of all time. I Still have have Emilanenko as the best but if Jones can defend that belt twice i will put him as the greatest of all time for me.
