All Time GOAT poll

This just isn't true at all though...

He was considered way better than GSP back in both their primes...

When Gsp was getting pinballed around by a 5'6 midget

Lul, tell me more about back in the day, with your 1 month old account.

Do you think anybody takes anything you say seriously when you spout off with "he was considered way better.." Even if people thought Anderson was better, etc., for the life of me I can't recall anything along the lines of "he was considered way better..."

That's actually comical.

I'm sorry. Ppl ignore all his losses pre ufc when he was a stick man, skinny as ever...then he comes to the ufc on a bunch of steroids. Fighting in a weak division. The best guy he fought was Hendo...okami was decent too, franklin was good but a perfect style match up.

Silva would have never done that run during the Weidman, Rockhold, Romero, Mouse, Jacare era.

He's exciting but no where near goat imo

Its not too hard to recall something like that. It was years of silva being considered the Goat.

Going into the Weidman fight he was heavily considered as goat

So yeah I'd say that's considered being better.

This stupid he was in "weak division" argument again or only beat "weak guys" same crap you hear about khabib. He is defo in the Goat conversation utter stupid to think otherwise.

Besides the drugs, this is why I can't put him at #1 even though I drank the Kool aid from ~2010-2015 myself. Anderson had amazing feats, but it's a lot easier to have these feats against his level of competition. For some reason that was a good comeback when Cody said it to O'Malley recently, but you guys turn into Ray Charles when it comes to Silva.

Anderson is inspiration to a lot of the sports most exciting fighters though, so I'll never take that away from the legend. Thank you for inspiring a generation.

Anderson was incredible during his reign, and it wasn't until after it was over that he popped for PEDs. It's certainly possible he was on them beforehand, but without proof it's not fair to him to say he was cheating the whole time but got caught only later. Anyway, GOAT or not, prime Anderson was a pretty amazing fighter.

Supposedly Anderson's weakness was grappling.

Mia, Sonnen, and don't forget the michael jordan of bjj.

Also, he beat hendo back when hendo still had a wrestling based style.

Bro you are trolling, and/or just don't have respect for what he did, numbers don't lie and he was not on steroids that entire time. His resume speaks for itself. If he isn't "anywhere" close, I'm willing to bet whoever you think is in that conversation hasn't accomplished as much or you are just being biased.

Who else could get subbed by DAIJU TAKASSE, (erhem...and later a somewhat less shameful loss to Ryo Chonan) in their athletic prime, and STILL be considered for GOAT contention?
He was an ass-kicker, for sure, but add to the above that he's a known steroid cheat and I don't see how he gets put up there next to GSP (or Fedor). He had an awesome winning streak that involved picking apart lots of mediocre-to good opponents, but that ain't GOAT worthy.

Hmm. I take it you're new? Terrible troll job if not. Anybody who watched Silva in his heyday knows he's very much in the discussion (top 5) even if #1 is arguable. Definitely GOAT MW though and it's not even close.

It's understandable. He put on some outstanding performances in a fairly weak division. Wins over Cote, Lutter, Leites, Bonnar and even Griffin don't age well. Hendo does. Vitor somewhat. Finishing moves are memorable, the guys who took them not so much.

His win over Hendo is so fucking underrated. Also to the goof the said he barely scraped by Lutter and Cote is trolling. Don't take the bait.

Anderson Silva holds nearly all of UFC’s most prestigious records:

-Longest win streak (16)
-longest title reign (2457 days)
-most title defenses finishes (8)
-most KOs in title fights (7)
-most knockdowns in title fights (11)
-most knockdowns in UFC history (18)
-10 title defenses (should be #1 with 11)
-3 1st round LHW KOs

Silva is arguably the GOAT if you aren’t being bias.

Too many are looking at his fall, similar to bj

A decade ago nobody outside of Canada proclaimed gsp as goat

All my friends got into ufc after me and another guy

Who got them there?

Anderson of course

He was like neo

Everyone will have their own opinion but Anderson had the best prime of any fighter, similar to Roy jones jr in boxing

Carrying on has probably made them look more mortal, when they should of hung up the gloves

I wonder if Anderson ran away into retirement after the chael fights, would gsp still be called goat?

1. Silva
2. Jones
3. Fedor
4/5. Gsp/aldo

How can a guy with double digit losses be the best when there are other candidates with much less defeats? Doesn’t make any sense
