Lol at all the people who use the PED excuse to avoid calling him GOAT. There's not exactly a long list of guys left if you say PEDs eliminate a fighter. It's not unique to Jones, yet you all pretend it is.

And that's cause what is unique to Jones is that he's the only one without any brutal losses. Which is what you're really trying to move the goalposts past as you know he's got the best record.

PEDs are just your excuse to try and justify putting whoever your favourite lesser fighter is above him.

Can't deny his greatness if he wasn't a PED user though I guess.

Probably the most talented fighter ever if he was natural. Better version of GSP, I'd say.

But was he is really THE question. He arguably hasn't looked great since he popped considering GUS really fell hard after Jones rematch. So was it Jones or Gus, who knows.

I mean 2 failed PED tests and 2 suspicious test.. even if you use the argument everyone cheats, few get busted like he did. Which either shows he's egregiously cheating; dumb as fuck; or both.

Add in in he has been off for 3 years (suspended again?) Bulked up in the time frame (probably using peds) ... you just can't take all of that and say "yeah, that's the GOAT". I mean some will but I give more points to GSP, Khabib and Demetrius

How about we go with getting caught as being an eliminating factor? Everybody is on steroids but Only Jon and Anderson get caught? Makes no sense. Its a bit like you saying Ted Bundy isn't such a bad guy. Everybody is a serial killer he just got caught.
 
Nah it's khabib who has 3 title defenses or gsp who got knocked out by a midget.
 
He is already the goat but if he beats Gane it will be harder to argue.

But people will pretend him and TJ are the only fighters that have used PED.
 
If he beats Cyril and defends it, I may start calling him the GOAT even with his failed drug tests.
 
Nah needed to beat Santos and Reyes convincingly and lost to both (Judges rigged it for him).

Still above GSP who lost to Serra by tapping to strikes as -1200 favorite LMFAO and also lost a clear decision to Hughes.

Going undefeated and never taking any serious damage in the most competitive division definitely qualifies for GOAT status so gotta go with Khabib.
 
If Jones wins, he will be declared the GOAT in cage by Bruce Buffer when he's given the heavyweight belt.

He cleared out the division. Oliveria, Ferguson, Dariush would have all been tapped by Khabib within 3 rounds. Never took any real damage while everyone else either lost or got rocked badly at some point. Pretty fucking insane for that to happen in a sport as violent as MMA.

Honestly his only challenge would be the current champ Islam who he would never fight.

People hate him but I don't think anyone can really deny his skills. Gane is the favorite though. I don't think Jones hits hard enough to really worry Gane compared to the fighters Gane has fought at HW. Gane is the better striking point fighter vs heavy hitters especially at HW. Gane completely takes their game away while Jones has struggled in the past to keep fighters similar to his size off him with striking. Gane has better footwork and Jones most likely will be more flat footed and slower with the extra weight. Also don't think he'll be equal in strength and will struggle to take Gane down and control him if he does get him down.

All in all, if Jones does win it's very hard to deny his accomplishments. Minus the failed tests not many fighters come close to what he has achieved.
 
Jones already has the greatest resume of all time and is undefeated. If you need him to win this fight as well you dont deserve him as your GOAT.
