A lot of people would also agree that the level of talent and number of fighters between 135lbs and 170lbs is much higher than HW.

all my favorites have come back from losing. I wasn't even a Fedor fan his fights seemed like all foregone conclusions but he's still the GOAT in my book.

I respect the ride or die fans more. My favorite fighters are gsp, penn, and fedor.

I've been watching since 2007, so I've seen fedor and penn in decline longer than I've watched them fight in their prime. But I'll always be a fan and root for them in every fight.

Well... depending on what you mean by "talent." If by talent, you mean guys who can fight better, as in who would win a fight, then no, not many people think that.

If by "talent" you mean who is a good fighter for his SIZE, just like say, there are a bunch of "talented" football players and basketball players who are not in the NFL and the NBA because they are too small, but who are very talented for their SIZE, then sure.

You really think that Affliction and Strikeforce had better HW divisions then the UFC back then? LMFAO!!!

BTW, you forgot to mention JDS, Carwin and post injury/sea level Cain. Even though they were young at the time, they were still great fighters.

Ufc lhw/hw champ DC (strikeforce)
Half of the top10 guys back then were from strikeforce.

I'm a huge GSP fan and his record is amazing, but Jones has NEVER lost a fight. The DQ loss to Matt Hamill after breaking his face was not really a loss in my view. He beat Cormier twice and no one else at 205 or HW has ever beaten Cormier. I still remember the first time I saw Jones vs. Bonnar and I said this guy will be wearing the belt soon. It was so obvious he had all the tools right from the beginning to be great.

Brock was the UFC HW champion when Fedor lost to Werdum.
  • Fedor lost to Werdum on June 26th, 2010
  • Cain became champion on October 23, 2010
  • JDS became champion on November 12th, 2011
I didn't include Carwin because at no point in his career did he defeat the current champion (Lesnar).
I included Nogueira however because he did defeat the current champion (Couture), which makes his interim title more relevant. Interim champion Nogueira was also ranked higher than the current champion (Couture) at the time, which is the only time that's been the case in the history of the UFC.

Jon GOAT GOAT Jones is more impressive than Fedor in his prime. GSP is great and its fair to put him above Jon, for now. After another eight title defenses at LHW no one will be able to deny who the real GOAT is. Jon might even bless us by going up to HW someday, even though he doesn't have to.

Literally, Jon Jones seperated DC from consciousness in front of millions of viewers. The man who is undefeated at HW and champion there.
