Yes, but whether people like it or not, what I'm saying is that 1/5th of their career is something that can and does impact the opinion a lot of people will have on their whole career. Just because you do some great things in your career I don't see that as carte blanche to take w/e fights/losses later on and say but rember 10 years ago when I beat xyz fighter?

Anderson and Fedor tapped to chokes, which are far less dangerous than head strikes (ask any doctor -- there's a reason several countries' medical associations want to ban boxing and MMA, but no country's association wants to ban judo or BJJ). If GSP is illegible, then they are even less eligible.

Least dangerous thing to tap to is chokes (no long term or short term damage if the ref stops it, which always happens).
Medium danger thing to tap to is arm and leg locks (small long term damage, major short term damage which can be repaired by modern surgery).
Most dangerous thing to tap to is head strikes (lifelong neurological damage which can't be repaired by any medical science).

A lot of people? I think most people forgive fighters for losing at the tail end of their career like any other sport.

If you didn't watch a fighters full career I don't want to hear someone elses opinion about their career because you seriously can't possibly know.

and another point... if GSP came back and lost 5 in a row you'd look down on him even though youre a fan? You'd think his career is marred at least? That's just unfair and ridiculous.

I don't even like GSP but if he came back tomorrow and got Ko'd by Tyron Woodley i'd respect him more for trying.
