I don't know will have to look at their resume's side by side. I've never been a big fan of sterling but he has to be in the conversation now.

Beating cejudo is huge. Has to be the best win out of all 3 guys.

Dominic Cruz still has a stranglehold over that title imo.
WEC was UFC Bantamweight division, so his reign was longer than Aljo, & he is the 2 division champ.
Also doesn't have nearly as many asterisks as Aljo does on his fights.

I'm not sure he's there just yet, but if he isn't then he isn't far off

Finishes over Sandhagen and TJ, decision wins over Yan and Cejudo... pretty damn good resume

Cruz beat prime TJ, I think that’s the best win. Arguably it was the best performance in BW history along with TJ over Barao, TJ over Cody, and Cody over Dom.

TJ finish gets a big asterisk.

I was thinking of TJ over Barao too, at the time it one of the greatest wins ever. But yea Dom over TJ might take it too.

Cejudo should be the bigger win on paper compared to both of those. Only thing is he's coming off a long lay off and up there in age. Also it was a razor close split decision.

Beating prime Dillashaw is more impressive than beating 36 year old Cejudo who was noticeably smaller and had been retired for 3 years.

Sterling will most likely win his next one against O’malley as well. We’ll see what happens after especially with Umar coming.

Although I'm hesitant to declare Aljo the greatest bantamweight in UFC history, he's very close to achieving that status. In my opinion, a solid victory over Sean O'Malley would be the perfect opportunity for him to cement that position. This fight would garner a lot of attention, and Sterling's style makes me believe he could win decisively. I don't believe that Aljo will move up to the 145lbs division and I don't think he would fare well there. Although the weight cut to 135lbs is challenging, he manages it without too much of an impact on his performance. There are plenty of tough opponents and exciting matchups for him in the bantamweight division, and I think he should continue to compete there.

He won his last fight purely on having a 7 inch reach advantage at 135. More wild than Jon Jones.
But he fought a good fight.

Split Decision Sterling, the division's biggest weight cutter.

No fucks given about the dude. Absolutely unlikable. His fans have pudding for brains.

Beating a guy with 0 top 10 wins makes you bw GOAT?

Lol I want what you're smoking. Aljo is not in the conversation.

Yup. All of those wins top what Aljo has done. Aljos win over Yan isn’t aging too well. He narrowly beat Cejudo who is really, really undersized from a length standpoint for the division. Cejudo resume ain’t all that anyway. Great names on there that were either questionable decision (DJ) or guys that were at serious disadvantage (emaciated TJ, past it Dom).
Aljo would help himself out in the conversation if he could put some dominate wins together against the best in the division. Scraping by doesn’t look great. Dom, TJ, Barao, Cody (for a short minute) would blow guys out and look next level. Aljo just looks average.
I also actually like Aljo so not coming from hate.

Cejudo had some beautiful takedowns (the R1 body lock, inside trip, and last single where he dumped Sterling on his head were incredible), but still got outwrestled by Funkmaster at critical times. Unbelievable. His resume is getting ridiculous.

I have gained a lot of respect for Aljo. He is definitely very, very good and a worthy champion.

He is not a superstar though and his fighting style and personality don't seem to sell (Cejudo carried that PPV and even had fans chanting HIS name instead of the local Sterling).
