Media Alex Pereira Has Been Taken Down By EVERY Fighter That's Attempted

Alex Pereira fan, but he's released so many videos of him doing everything but training..
Khalil/HIll didn't attempt one.

Who do you guys have?

And none of them are high level wrestlers or even high level grapplers.

This is why him vs Jones might as well be Mo Smith v Randy Couture

thats why the UFC protects him by putting stand up guys against hi...on the other hand, who are the big time wrestlers and grapplers in the division, Krylov? He has 16 submission victories but lost to Jan so he wont get a shot. Ulberg has 1 sub. No grapplers means Alex is gonna be around for a long time.
Exactly!

I like Poatan cuz of his fighting ethos but ya he for sure has had a purposely favorable path

Ank has a great chance. But anything can happen. If it gets to the ground, trust GNP by Ank.

jon jones be like

Ank must be super relieved ya let him in on the champion being so vulnerable.

“But he won” is poor reasoning. It shows a vulnerability in his game that was taken advantage of by guys that aren’t even known to be wrestlers. I don’t know if Ankalaev will be the guy to do it, but this is a relevant point. I’ve seen many guys win despite obvious holes in their game only for that to eventually be their downfall.

It's a REALLY good thing this thread has never been done before. Someone should tell TS that wrestling sucks then because it clearly doesn't work if fighters keep trying and Alex keeps winning. They should be telling Ankalaev to try out that voodoo shit.

But... he's a Pereira fan.

Although honestly I don't see it as some unique vulnerability, I think MMA fans tend to follow the old cliche of the striker who can't grapple at all and you could add in the conflict between Alex and Izzys fanbases.

The truth is the sport is full of fighters who basically work by making people work for takedowns and then stand back up, people who straight up totally neutralise an opponents wrestling like say Crocop or Machida did in the past are pretty rare these days, its far more common that fighters basically force an opponent to limit their wrestling because its not worth the effort.

A big evolution in MMA tactics I would argue is that fighters started showing wrestlers less respect, they stopped fighting them like a BJJ match and took risks to stand back up instead due to US judging and the realisation most such wrestlers did not have the sub game to punish them, the way people like say Fedor or Chuck fought became more the standard for MMA.
