Media Alex Pereira brutalizing his sparring partner

Alex was going super light until his partner started spazzing and throwing heat

It was a defensive drill for Alex. His spar partner was supposed to mimick Izzy on the cage. As usual, Alex is standing in the pocket wide open and he got hit.

Instead of Alex spazzing out with hard punches, he should have realized he was stuck in the mud and started moving his feet.

What defensive drill starts with your partner against the cage? Why would you be defensive then? You're trying to keep the guy there.

Brazilian gym wars never change <lol>

Sparring partner brought that on himself. Why the fuck would he think just going harder is the answer to try take a sparring round that is meaningless off Poatan.

Here you are pretending to know anything about high level sparring lol.

Sparring partner was swinging for the fences while Pereira was going pretty easy, Pereira threw some harder shots in response but even then he still appeared to be going far below 100%

this

he was mostly just tapping him until sparring partner started throwing heat, then he turned it up a bit

And dude was clearly going harder than Poatan.
Looked like that to me too. He started throwing haymakers and Alex was more than happy to turn it up a little as well.

It is very clear you have no idea what you're talking about but are dying to sound like you do. Alex didn't even get hit once square that entire "drill." Maybe once, and a couple decent body shots. His head movement and ability to roll with fireworks is second to none. "he was suppose to mimic Izzy" is absolute clown analysis. AP doesn't bring up dudes my size to mimic Izzy's style for him in any drill, doofus.

"Instead of..." "...stuck in the mud..." yeah bro, dude on a karate forum needs to give analytical footwork advice to a world champion kickboxer and UFC champion... and the advice? "He needs to move his feet!" yeah bro, a 6'4" kickboxer corners a guy against the cage and his next move? Footwork and move away, circle off and let him escape. Just lmao. Shut the FUCK up and stop pretending <lmao>

For everyone else, sparring is sparring. They high fived afterwards. This isn't a big deal. "That guy brought it on himself!!" brought what? good training? Good. They had a good time. They were in the last 30 seconds and turned up the heat. When you're a two division UFC champion level striker, dudes are going to bring you heat.

I guarantee you you'd piss your pants with AP having your back against the fence, you wouldn't be throwing leather with any heat. Dude was having a good time. let them bang.

Footwork doesn't always mean "move away, circle off and let him escape". It also means get on your toes and move your head. Or just back Izzy to the cage, stand in front of him and get knocked out. Or back his sparring partner to the cage stand in front of him with zero movement and eat a solid right hook, spazz out and knowingly and purposely hurt his sparring partner.

That's SPARRING????
Fuck that!!

Whatever Alex is paying that dude..... It ain't enough.
A lot of these guys spar so fucking hard that is is a miracle they don't have traumatic brain injury.

I love this video where Big Joe Egan talks about sparring Mike Tyson when he was 17 -
Quote - " And all these big, powerfull men appeared, and they were walking very, very somber..They were walking like men walking to the gallows" :D

You know, they make a head-gear for sparring, it usually prevents those type of cuts when slinging leather the way those two were

I know, know, not a goddamn mma fighter on the planet wears one when training
