Law Alabama used new method to execute prisoner. States forced to seek alternative methods.

How would you write the law or sentencing guidelines to determine whether a case is airtight or not?

a preponderance of dna evidence

Kio Piggly Wiggly. He basically asked you to write a legal standard higher than "beyond a reasonable doubt", and you offer up this gem.

"The DNA evidence leads us to believe that it was more likely than not you committed this crime.......BANG"

Great,
Not only are we eating cockroaches in our grain but we are also eating people…
Don't forget rats. I don't know if my info is still relevant since it's more than 30 years old, but I remember dropping the grain on a big steel grid and the smaller rats (or bits of rats) would go through the holes.

Fuck this shithead. He may have "suffered" some slight discomfort during this. So what.

The average price of centerfire handgun ammo is $0.50 cents per round. The average price of centerfire rifle ammo is $0.95 cents per round. The average price of shotgun ammo is $0.60 cents per round.

I don't think it's still the case, but I read that during Mao's reign, the PLA used to send the next of kin a bill for the cost of bullet used during executions.

That's some next level cold-blooded shit.

We are still finding death row inmates innocent to this day, can't see how someone with a moral compass would support state sanctioned murder of innocents. The justice system is imperfect.
What about the death penalty for monsters when there's zero doubt? For example, take the racist fuck in Buffalo who murdered people in the grocery store. I personally don't have a problem with it. I would let the victims' families choose.

The death penalty should not be an option as soon as there is any doubt.

I didn't know that.
Farming is the most dangerous or second most dangerous job in the UK and a lot (comparatively) of people also suffocate in slurry fumes (or lose consciousness from the fumes then drown in the slurry).

I was in a car accident where my GF died. The Québec government made sure to send me a bill for a road sign my car was plowed into. They even charged me for the bolts, nuts and washers.

I'm sorry for your loss.

FFS, Canada, you're supposed to be the nice one!o_O

The coffee beans you grind for breakfast are allowed by the FDA to have an average of 10 milligrams or more animal poop per pound. As much as 4% to 6% of beans by count are also allowed to be insect-infested or moldy.

Apple butter can contain an average of four or more rodent hairs for every 3.5 ounces (100 grams) and about five whole insects. Oh, and that isn’t counting the unknown numbers of teensy mites, aphids, and thrips.

Golden raisins are allowed to contain 35 fruit fly eggs as well as 10 or more whole insects (or their equivalent heads and legs) for every 8 ounces. Kid-sized containers of raisins are an ounce each. That’s more than 4 eggs and a whole insect in each box.

Did you know there can be 450 insect parts and nine rodent hairs in every 16 oz. box of spaghetti?

Canned tomatoes, tomato paste and sauces like pizza sauce are a bit less contaminated than the tomato juice in your cocktail. The FDA only allows about two maggots in a 16 oz. can.

Adding mushrooms to your spaghetti sauce or pizza? For every 4 oz. can of mushrooms there can be an average of 20 or more maggots of any size.

The canned sweet corn we love is allowed to have two or more larvae of the corn ear worm, along with larvae fragments and the skins the worms discard as they grow.

For every ¼ cup of cornmeal, the FDA allows an average of one or more whole insects, two or more rodent hairs and 50 or more insect fragments, or one or more fragments of rodent dung.

They should be executed in the same manner that they chose when they killed someone. Compassion for a killer, please. If you choose to take someone else's life there should be no compassion for you.

I didn't know that.
Yup, Nitrogen asphyxiation is pretty sneaky, its 80% of the atmosphere, our body has absolutely no way to detect it because we never evolved a way since its everywhere, odorless, tasteless and doesn't makes you feel funny in anyway.

People walk into low oxygen nitrogen atmosphere and just walk around until they pass out and die.

There was a case here i remember when it was a double-whammy, one guy entered a silo passed out, another guy tried to save him so he went inside and passed out too, then they simply die due to lack of oxygen.

When was the last time a crooked politician was executed in the US?

Seems odd that it never happens. Guess they're all squeaky clean.

Anyway, guillotine makes the most sense, aside from the whole head rolling thing. Might be tough for some folks to stomach. But that's what the govt will use if they ever come for us. It's super efficient.

I approve of the death penalty for serious crimes when there is minimal doubt of guilt. For instance if the accused confesses. I would recommend the guillotine. It's cheap, simple, there's very little that can go wrong, it's instant and painless (I know people think maybe the head is conscious for a few seconds but this has not been proven and I would accept the risk), and there's no ambiguity about whether the person is dead or how long do we have to wait. You could have five strings attached to it, only one of which really triggers the blade if you want, the same principle as a firing squad.

There is no scientific evidence on using nitrogen to execute people but it is generally not used to euthanise animals because it causes panic and distress.

Risks include feelings of suffocation and choking to death on one’s own vomit, as well as brain damage, a stroke, or a persistent vegetative state instead of death.

Exposure to less than 100% pure nitrogen gas can cause severe and permanent injuries short of death, according to experts.

Alabama’s protocol calls for delivering nitrogen gas to the condemned person through a mask, which experts say creates a substantial risk that oxygen will infiltrate the mask, which could leave the person in a persistent vegetative state, cause him to have a stroke, or to experience the painful sensation of suffocation. [Witnesses to the execution reported the mask was not airtight, which could be why Smith thrashed around for several minutes if he was slowly suffocating while conscious.]

Vomiting is also a known side effect of oxygen deprivation. Using a mask that covers the nose and mouth creates a risk that the person will asphyxiate on his own vomit, especially where, as here, prison staff will not intervene to check or clear the person’s airway if he vomits after nitrogen has begun to flow.

The American Veterinary Medical Association has declared that nitrogen gas is inappropriate for euthanising most animals. Its guidelines provide, 'Current evidence indicates this method is unacceptable because animals may experience distressing side effects before loss of consciousness.'

'Veterinarians have generally stopped using nitrogen to euthanise animals, who showed severe signs of distress,' The New York Times reports.

More death sooner faster cheaper.

More capital crimes. More convictions. More dead criminals.

My 2 cents.

I don’t care what he asked, I am not writing a state code. I listed examples of what I am referring to. You’re such a cunt you think I am going to spend an hour looking up what a state law is and then alter it? This is a discussion. I put a fucking shit ton more into these answers than most would ever dream beyond their two line answers. I get it, you give handjobs to criminals and get upset when someone wants to kill them, but fuck off

Jesus, unless it was a dui or like drag racing/reckless driving, that is insane

They should just throw them in one of these fuckers

It goes against the "natural" part of my brain that says monsters who kill others for their own pleasure should certainly be put down. But it's easier to just leave them locked in prison until they did of old age. They can't hurt anyone else, who isn't someone who's also a violent felon so... meh. And if they do do that in prison they get thrown in the hole.

And with the current system of so many appeals, life in prison is actually cheaper than executing them. If that was your mother that got killed wouldn't you want some justice?
