Even if you 100% have the right man, and he remains 100% irredeemable and a danger to society as long as he lives, I’ve still heard too many convincing arguments against capital punishment to support it.

But if prisoners are going to be executed regardless, they should do it in a way that preserves the brain for study, to learn more about why people do what they do. The best method to accomplish this would probably be via a guillotine machine that separates the head cleanly from the body.

Regardless of life or death sentence, the longer a prisoner is kept alive to be interviewed, to reflect, to journal, etc., the more we can learn from them about personality, psychology, human nature, mental illness, etc. So in other words, ethics aside, they’d be more useful to us alive than dead, from a practical or scientific perspective.

I disagree. I am in favor of corporal punishment and capital punishment. If you catch a school shooter that killed 29 children, him only lasting 19 minutes is the tragedy
