Well based on the footage they argued he was either touching or about to grab the firearm when shot. The shooting occurred at close range. He literally fired at the last moment. Fortunately the law doesn't require you to stop and open a dialogue with someone about to kill you. Anyway you came into this calling a riot a peaceful protest so your bias is pretty clear. Why are you so angry about this though, seriously?

At one point, Arbery was heading out of the Satilla Shores neighborhood where the defendants live, but the McMichaels forced him to turn back into the neighborhood and run past Bryan, the agent said. That is when he struck Arbery, Dial said.

there isn’t a “last moment” he was not up against a wall, he wasn’t backed into a corner. they were in a narrow space between two cars, but he could have kept running or defended himself without firing a gun.

Fortunately the law doesn't require you to stop and open a dialogue with someone about to kill you.

the man was unarmed and 5’2. if you fear for your life because this guy makes a mean face at you, you shouldn’t show up at a protest, and you damn sure shouldn’t have a gun in your hands.

I was reasonably sure they had a problem with that word being used with no conviction. The moderation is hardly balanced, but it is what it is. I had a bigger issue with being stalked around the forums afterwards, but I digress. Probably safer not to mention it at all.

Zimmerman got off because it came down to his word that he was attacked and not the aggressor. Even though had had been told not to engage or follow.

Because (a) the person telling him not to engage or follow had no legal authority to give orders and (b) Zimmerman did nothing illegal by following Zimmerman didn't 'get off,' all of the physical evidence supported his story.

The REAL differences in the AA case is that we have video evidence and a 911 recording that shows the murderers were ACTUALLY chasing AA down and BRANDISHING firearms in a threatening manner to illegally detain him. They were not merely present around AA (Rittenhouse) and did not by happenstance have firearms on them (Zimmerman), they followed AA with firearms for the distinct purpose of detaining him.

There's no evidence to suggest that Rittenhouse was cruising for using his firearm for nefarious purposes (actually, evidence of the opposite) or that Zimmerman followed TM for the purpose of detainment, altercation or anything illegal. In both cases, those killed instigated physical battery and were subsequently justifiably killed.

In the AA case, there's no evidence that AA committed a crime worthy of citizens arrest or deadly force, but the trio of doom went through with it anyway.
