Elections After Shooting, ABC, CBS and NBC Blast Trump with 95% Bad Press

We used to have something called the Fairness Doctrine which required that when media covered any topic of national importance, they had to cover both sides of the issue. That went away in the late 1980s and it’s been all downhill since.
Did you know, there actually used to be a law called the Fairness Doctrine that required the media to give 50/50 coverage.
You can thank ol Ronnie Regan for getting rid of it.
Amen, this opened up the door for that bastard Newt Gingrich & friends to conceive of Faux News in the mid 90s. I knew it was all going downhill back then, where we have landed over the past 5 years is a place I never thought we would arrive

On that, sir, we agree.

Not even Sunday’s close call with a would-be assassin could interrupt the liberal TV networks’ barrage of bad press against Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. A look at the first 72 hours of coverage on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts — Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights — finds that while the attempted assassination dominated campaign coverage, these networks’ anti-Trump spin was nearly as bad as it could be: 95% negative, vs. just five percent positive.

MRC analysts analyzed all 69 minutes of campaign coverage on the evening newscasts from September 15 through September 17. The attempted assassination was by far the dominant story: 48 minutes of airtime, or almost 70% of all campaign news. The networks aired more than 17 minutes of coverage on Sunday night, an additional 22 minutes on Monday and another eight minutes Tuesday evening.

Yet even as they covered the shocking new danger to Trump, the networks persisted in bashing the GOP candidate on a range of other issues — as well as his reaction to his own close call. Over the three nights, we tallied 21 evaluative comments about the GOP candidate, 20 of which were negative, which computes to a 95% negative spin score. (For more, see the methodology explanation at the end of this article.)

I've always wondered how elections would be different if the MSM (Broadcast News and Newspapers) were even handed in their reporting. When Trump ran against Hillary, she received 90%+ good press, while he received 90%+ bad press. The same happened to Mitt Romney versus Barack Obama. What is the impact of all the bad press the Republican candidates always receive? How are the propagandists posing a "journalists" impacting our elections?
The cope in November is going to be epic

Why do the two have to do with each other? did conservative media all of a sudden start praising Pelosi when she was a target and her husband was bludgeoned with a hammer?

No, they made fun of it, and laughed about it.. at least the "liberal" media doesn't giggle and make fun of trump being a target.

Trump is a POS that lies a lot, getting shot at or almost shot doesn't change that. Perhaps if he was less of a POS and lied less, he'd have fewer wacko's willing to trade their lives to take his.
I didn’t know that in addition to the severe skull fracture Paul suffered, he also lost his hand.

It's amazing the shit people cling onto. Meanwhile, we're teetering on recession with unemployment ticking up, larger than expected rates cuts and the potential for a dollar devaluation.

But eating pets tho
We've been supposedly teetering on the edge of a recession since 2022 and yet unemployment is still below 5% and we're still growing. The cuts are good though maybe overdue but either way it looks like we might avoid a recession after all.

Also the reason we're talking about the Haitians eating cats story is because a former president and the nominee for the GOP blurted it out at the debate. What he didn't talk about was sensible economic policy to address the current economic woes unless you count the horrible tariff idea which would have an inflationary effect.

Well that's a surprise (not really).

You mean the media which is overwhelmingly pro democrat is trying to influence the election.

Well that can't be true. Just ask any democrat they will tell you.

What about the media that's overwhelmingly pro conservative?

Do they have obligation to positively cover democrats?

Did you know FOX alone gets more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined?

Did you know FOX has been the number 1 news network by a lot for 90 consecutive quarters?

I didn't say that had to be fair to the conservatives and/or Republicans.

Just don't try to bullshit and act like they are.

Yes Fox leans right and I'm not doing to try and bullshit anyone by saying they don't.

Concession accepted.

Do you really need more? Just look at Harris’ social media and look at Trump’s. Which one is more dramatic and which one is more sane.

Also when y’all whine about the media, what are you talking about? Because media is a broad term, Fox News is the largest news corporation in the country and they fuel a lot of “fair” coverage over Trump, Twitter is off the walls pro-MAGA especially considering the CEO is practically campaigning for it.

Tucker Carlson, Candance Owens and Megyn Kelly are all within top 5 most popular podcasts in the world…Hell even, Tucker bald faced lied about an election consciously and you have people still believing in that propaganda today….So I don’t get where y’all are coming from saying the media wants Trump out of office or that the world’s out to get his poor soul.

Their entire argument is complete bullshit when you line up everything that they claim.
If MSM is a dinosaur that no one watches anymore, then what are they bitching about? Most people on here post videos from Twitter/social media and independent content creators, NOT MSM.

Listening to conservatives talk, you would think they were in Guantanamo bay, getting their message out via letters in bottles that float to the shores of Florida where they are picked up by right wing freedom fighters and read from secret underground bunkers. Biggest bunch of crybabies on the planet.

Even they've turned on Dopey McGropey which has been pretty amusing considering they had to pay $750 million for lying in his favour.

Well people saying that back clearly don't understand indicators/charts/precedent. We had two quarters of not so great GDP numbers, that's only one indicator. There were a lot of assumptions based on speculation.. but I could at this current time point to real time indicators that are coming to fruition. Does that guarantee that we're going to have a hard landing? Nothing's guaranteed. The unemployment numbers could reverse and the dollar may not suffer as we come out of a yield inversion. We'll see. One thing is for sure is the stock market is overheated.

Regardless of what happens I'm sure peoples pets are safe. Unless you have coyotes roaming the neighborhood, then you gotta be careful. Haitian coyotes LOOM.

Some bigger left ones missing
Mediastouch has 3.11M
Jesse Dollemore has 779K
Luke Beasley has 843K

There are several others in the 400-500k range as well, but generally the left channels get dwarfed by the right wing channels on average.

There is little positive to Trump...and nobody cares that he wasn't shot at

What does one have to do with the other?

Being unfortunately targeted by a loon doesn't absolve somebody of their previous shortcomings.

It was undoubtedly 95% negative for Donnie from those outlets prior to the attempt anyway.

So you want channels to announce they lean one way or are biased? What a ridiculous take.

Fox constantly proclaim themselves as "fair and balanced." They don't come out and say I lean heavily Republican.

Not expecting the media to announce it but they lie when they directly say they are not same as some posters here.

Which begs the question:

Is there a nationwide conspiracy between all major media outlets to only release negative stories about trump; or, does trump just do a bunch of dumb shit and the media reports on it?

I'm gonna go with the later.
