Unimpressed with Rampage tonight.
- It should’ve a theme so you can tell it apart from Dynamite. It’s exactly the same just with a different logo.
- Henry sounds retarded on commentary.
- The Fuego thing was stupid. You just basically said stipulations don’t mean shit on your show. Also 1-50 doesn’t exactly scream Elite.
- They should’ve had a big time main event for a debut show and that wasn’t even Elevation main event worthy. I get they try to present women wrestling as a big deal but it needs to be organic (like Becky’s push), otherwise it looks stupid. None of that looked like a big deal.
- If thats your debut show you should have a grand finale that sets the tone for that show. Christian winning the belt from Kenny should’ve closed.

Christian winning the Impact title is good because he was in that company before and Omega already fought all the guys he could in Impact.

Also puts a title on Christian that seems important but isn't the AEW strap
 
Thought the first show was great. Loved that it's only an hour. That was a pleasant surprise.

Omega vs Christian was fantastic. Great way to set the tone. I lol'd at Don and his pink scarf.

The TNT belt match was fine. Did what it should. Sammy out to give the rub to this dude, could be the start of something good for FDS. Could be. I am now certainly interested in FDS. Definitely elevated him. Job done. A certain sports entertainment company could take note.

Main event was great. Britt in her element. Crowd red hot. Great match. I must say though that I had no idea who the blonde lady was afterwards. I vaguely remember the name now. Hope she can hang on the mic or adds a different dimension to Britt's reign.

I liked the commentary. I assume that it's gonna be minus Jericho going forward which is fine. Three is enough.

Great show, the only complaint is that maybe Christian/Omega should've main evented but then again it was Britt's hometown.
 
Rampage was live and not just another hour after Wednesday's show, correct? So (as good as it was) there was only an hour of live action for the fans in attendance?
 
  • They need to drop one from the announce team. I think you cut JR and move Jericho to Dynamite. He needs to cut back on his scream-y voice though.
  • Kenny vs Christian was good. Thought it was weird the show opened with it, but start strong for the new people giving it a chance.
  • Miro vs Fuego was fine. Really glad that they didn't put Fuego over for the sake of the contract though. I do think they wasted an opportunity there though. I think you give Fuego 2 more TV matches, and he has to win, OR he can never wrestle in AEW again.
Good show overall, I agree though that it needs to feel different than Dynamite.
 
Was just listening to Jungle Boy on Renee's podcast and he pretty much confirmed my worst fear about him. He said that he wasn't a fan of cutting promos and tries to avoid doing them, though he did concede that at some point he will have to do them.

I would say that there is no greater promotion to learn that craft atm than AEW. They have so many great promo people and the correct environment to cultivate that talent. And as said previously, JB is young and has a lot of time to learn and of course he can start small. Lord knows I don't want him cutting some 20 minute WWE-style snore-athon.
