He beat some of the best collegiate wrestlers in the country leading up to the olympics. Multiple time national champions.

And did it without a collegiate career. At 18-19 years old.

People don’t realize how much of a wrestling prodigy this guy is / was.

He would’ve absolutely gotten gold if he continued wrestling, but he chose mma instead.

His chin though...

I don't even disagree. He's a freak athlete and from a pure talent perspective one of the most blue chip guys ever. But...you know getting punched happens.

He’s a big weight cutter

Plays a factor. Probably takes a while before you get that down for fighting.

Poirier was “chinny” at one point too. Whittaker. There’s a few.

Plus years of training with roach means a lot of neck training.

Yeah -- I kinda wish he stayed with wrestling to at least get one gold.
